Alright, so, I was digging around for some stuff to watch and came across this video of Babyface singing the national anthem at a baseball game. You know, the MLB, Major League Baseball, that thing.
So, I’m watching this thing and it’s Babyface, right? This guy’s won like, a ton of Grammy Awards, thirteen I think. And he’s there, singing the “Star-Spangled Banner” at Yankee Stadium, before a World Series game. Game 5, to be exact. The Dodgers were playing, those guys from Los Angeles.
- First, I gotta find the video, right? Searched around, found it on the MLB’s official channel or whatever.
- Then, I watched the performance. It’s… different. Let’s just say it’s a unique take on the anthem.
- After that, I started looking up what other people thought. Turns out, some folks weren’t too happy with how another singer, Ingrid Andress, did the anthem at some Home Run Derby thing. She even said she was drunk! Can you believe that?
But Babyface’s performance got me thinking. I started looking up other versions of the national anthem at these games. Found one with Ashanti, another singer. She sang it at some game, and people seemed to like it. Over 46 thousand people watched her, they said.
This whole thing got me down a rabbit hole of watching national anthem performances. It’s kinda interesting how different they can be. But yeah, that’s what I ended up doing. Watched a bunch of people singing the national anthem at baseball games. Not how I expected to spend my time, but hey, it was something different.
Watching all these different versions, it’s wild how much they can change the vibe of the song.
Anyway, that’s the story of how I ended up watching a bunch of national anthem performances. Just because I saw Babyface singing it at a baseball game. Weird how things go, huh?
