Okay, so I’ve been grinding on Marvel Snap lately, and let me tell you, getting through Pool 3 is a wild ride. I wanted to share my experience building a discard deck because it’s been a blast.
So, I started messing around with discard decks early on, but once I hit Collection Level 480-ish, that’s when things got serious. Pool 3 opened up, and I was getting my hands on some awesome new cards.
My first goal was to get my hands on the core discard cards. I got lucky and pulled Colleen Wing pretty early. She’s a beast for taking out those low-cost cards and triggering other discard effects. Then I got Lady Sif, which is super clutch for sniping high-cost cards like Apocalypse to make him stronger without losing him forever. Hellcow was another lucky grab – discarding two cards at random might seem crazy, but with the right setup, it’s powerful as hell.
- Colleen Wing – She was a game-changer. Being able to target and discard those 1-cost cards, especially when I had Swarm in hand, was insane. Free Swarm copies? Yes, please!
- Lady Sif – Getting her was a big deal. She let me discard Apocalypse reliably, which kept buffing him without the risk of losing him completely.
- Hellcow – At first, I was hesitant about this card because of the random discards, but it really forces you to think a few steps ahead. Discarding two cards at once can be a game-changer, especially if you’ve got your win conditions lined up.
- Gambit – I got him later on, but boy, was he fun. Discarding a card to destroy a random enemy card? It’s like a mini-game in itself, and it can totally disrupt your opponent’s strategy.
After getting these, I started experimenting. I threw in Apocalypse because, duh, he gets stronger every time he’s discarded. Swarm was another no-brainer, giving me free copies whenever it was discarded. And let me tell you, playing multiple Swarm on the last turn is so satisfying.
I also tried out Dracula. He’s a bit of a gamble, but the payoff is huge. At the end of the game, he discards a card from your hand to gain its power. If you play your cards right, you can make sure he discards something big, like a buffed-up Apocalypse.
It took a lot of trial and error. Sometimes I’d discard the wrong cards, or my opponent would counter me in ways I didn’t expect. But I kept at it, tweaking the deck here and there. I remember one game where I had Apocalypse fully buffed, and I used Dracula to discard him for a massive power boost. Won me the game on the spot!
One thing I noticed about Pool 3 is that you gotta be flexible. There are so many different cards and strategies; you can’t just stick to one plan. I had to learn to adapt to what my opponent was doing and adjust my strategy on the fly.
Honestly, the best part about this deck is how fun it is. It’s not just about winning; it’s about the crazy combos and the satisfying feeling when everything comes together. It’s like, you’re not just playing cards; you’re setting up this intricate chain reaction, and when it works, it’s beautiful.
Getting through Pool 3 with this discard deck was a blast. It’s a high-risk, high-reward strategy, and I loved every minute of it. If you’re in Pool 3 and looking for a fun deck to try, give discard a shot. It might just surprise you!
