Well, let me tell ya, the young folks these days, they sure do have some complicated lives. I heard on the TV somethin’ about this Marcus Jordan and that Larsa Pippen. They broke up, can ya believe it?
Seems like just yesterday they was all lovey-dovey, and now, poof! Gone like smoke. I tell ya, relationships these days are like a blinkin’ light, on and off, on and off. Can’t keep up with ’em, no sir.
- First off, I heard this Larsa girl, she’s on some TV show, “The Real Housewives of Miami” they call it. Fancy, huh? Well, she said they split up. Said it plain as day to some entertainment fella.
- Then, someone else, a “source” they called ’em, told some magazine that they went their “separate ways.” Sounds mighty official, don’t it? Like they had a map and one went east and the other went west.
This Marcus fella, he’s Michael Jordan’s son, you know, the basketball fella. Used to be a basketball player himself, but now he runs somethin’ called “Trophy Room.” Sounds fancy, must sell fancy things for fancy folks. He ain’t hurting for money neither. Heard tell he’s worth about 2 million dollars. That’s a lot of chickens, let me tell ya.
Now, this Larsa girl, she’s a bit older than him, I reckon. They been together for a year or somethin’, and now she says she’s relieved it’s over. Relieved, can ya imagine? After all that huggin’ and kissin’, she’s relieved! Young folks, I tell ya, they’re somethin’ else. She says she ain’t lookin’ for nobody new neither. Guess she’s had her fill of men for a while. Maybe she’ll just sit and watch her TV shows and leave the fellas alone.
This whole thing, it reminds me of my cousin Betsy’s chickens. One minute they’re all clucking together, happy as can be, and the next they’re peckin’ at each other and scattering all over the yard. That’s love for ya, I guess. One minute it’s there, the next it’s gone, just like Betsy’s chickens.
And get this, this ain’t the first time they broke up. Seems like they done this before. On again, off again, like a screen door in a windstorm. Can’t make up their minds, these two. I swear, they’re more dramatic than a soap opera. I remember back when my Jed and I got hitched, we stayed hitched. None of this breakin’ up and gettin’ back together nonsense. We worked through our problems, we did.
So, what’s gonna happen now? Well, nobody knows for sure. Maybe they’ll get back together again, maybe they won’t. Maybe this Larsa girl will find herself another fella, maybe this Marcus fella will go back to playin’ basketball, or whatever it is he does at that Trophy Room place. Who knows? Life’s a funny thing, it is. Just gotta sit back and watch the show, I guess. That’s what I do with my days, sit on the porch, watch the world go by and gossip with the gals. It keeps an old woman entertained.
But one thing’s for sure, these young folks and their fancy lives, they sure do keep things interestin’. Always somethin’ goin’ on, always somethin’ to talk about. And me? Well, I’ll just keep on watchin’ and listenin’, and shakin’ my head at all the fuss. That’s all a body can do these days.
