Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online about Louis Oosthuizen’s setup, especially for 2023. So I decided to dig in and see what I could find, and then, you know, try to piece it together myself.

My Deep Dive into Louis’s Bag
First, I spent hours scouring the internet. I checked out a bunch of golf forums, watched some tournament footage, and even looked at some close-up photos of his bag whenever I could find them.
It was a bit of a puzzle, to be honest. Some sources contradicted others, and it’s not like Louis has a big “WITB” post on his website (wishful thinking!). But I persevered, like a true golf detective.
Here’s the list that I managed to gather:
- Driver: I found out about the Ping G425 LST, usually around 9 degrees.
- Fairway Woods: this one is hard to nail down.
- Irons: This is where it gets interesting. it seems like he plays Ping i210.
- Wedges: Seemingly, Titleist Vokey SM9, around 50,54,60 degrees.
- Putter: The putter, it looks mostly like Ping PLD.
- Ball: The ball, always is Titleist Pro V1.
After compiling all this info, I tried to see if I could replicate some of his setup, at least in spirit. I don’t have his exact clubs, obviously, but I do have some similar models. I adjusted the lofts on my driver and experimented with different wedge combinations. It was actually pretty fun!
It’s cool to see what the pros are using, even if it’s just for inspiration. And who knows, maybe I’ll pick up a used i210 iron someday to see what all the fuss is about. At last, I realized that I should practice more!
