Alright, so I decided to actually sit down and try to sort out a tier list for Black Clover M. Been playing it quite a bit, you know, and figured I’d put my thoughts down somewhere instead of just having ’em rattling around in my head.

First thing I did was just play. A lot. Jumped into the arena, ran through some gear dungeons, pushed the story missions I hadn’t finished. Really tried to get a feel for which characters were pulling their weight consistently and which ones felt like dead weight most of the time. You start noticing patterns, who hits hard, who keeps the team alive, who just… exists.
Then I actually started making notes. Just scribbled down names. Put the obvious powerhouses at the top – you know the ones, the characters that seem to show up in every top team. Characters like Julius, felt like he had to be up there right from the start. Same for some key healers or defenders that make a huge difference.
Sorting Them Out
Breaking them into tiers was the next step. I went with the usual S, A, B, C kind of thing. Didn’t want to overcomplicate it.
- S Tier: For me, these are the game-changers. The characters you pretty much always want if you have them. They fit into almost any team and just perform incredibly well.
- A Tier: These are the really strong ones. Maybe not quite as universally broken as S tiers, but damn good. Excellent in their roles, solid picks you won’t regret building.
- B Tier: This is where it got fuzzier. Good characters, definitely usable. Maybe they need the right team, or they excel in one specific mode but aren’t great everywhere else. Solid, but replaceable.
- C Tier: Characters I found myself rarely using. Maybe they have a super niche use, or they’re just outclassed by others who do the same job better. Probably wouldn’t invest too heavily here unless you really like them or have no other options.
Moving characters between these tiers was where most of the time went. I’d put someone in A, then play a few more matches and think, “Nah, they really belong in B,” or sometimes the other way around. Tried to think about their skills, how they synergize, and where I actually used them effectively. For example, a character might be amazing in raids but just okay in PvP, so I had to kinda average that out in my head.
My Rough Findings
I started placing the characters based on my gut feeling and recent gameplay. The ones I constantly relied on naturally went higher. Characters like Lotus often came up as super useful for his debuffs, definitely felt like A or even S tier material depending on the situation. Mars, the tankiness is undeniable, solid A for sure in my book for keeping the team standing.

Then there were characters who felt strong early on but maybe tapered off, or vice-versa. Had to consider that too. Some attackers hit like trucks but are glass cannons, where do they fit? It’s a balancing act.
Spent a good hour or two just dragging names around on my list, comparing skills in the game menus, thinking back to specific fights. “Did this guy actually help me win that tough stage, or was he carried?” That kind of internal debate.
So yeah, that was the process. Played a bunch, took notes, defined what the tiers meant to me, and then spent time sorting and resorting based on actual use and performance. It’s not gospel, obviously. It’s just one guy’s perspective after sinking a fair bit of time into the game. Your pulls, your gear, your preferred modes – all that stuff changes things. But this is the list I landed on after fiddling with it for a while.
