Okay, so I was just browsing some wrestling stuff the other day, and I saw Lita was back again, winning the tag titles with Becky Lynch. It kinda hit me, like, wait, Lita? I remember watching her way back, the high-flying stuff, the whole vibe with Team Xtreme. It got me thinking, what’s her whole story been since she first left?

Diving Back In
So, I started digging. First, just watching some old matches on the network. Man, those matches against Trish Stratus still hold up. They really went at it. It’s funny, you read behind the scenes they’re like best friends, but on screen? Pure enemies. That chemistry was something else.
Then I looked up when she actually retired. I thought it was later, but nope, main retirement was way back, like 2007-ish? After that, she wasn’t wrestling full-time for ages. Found out she was spending time down in Nicaragua, bought a place there. Surfing and stuff. Kinda cool, just doing her own thing away from the spotlight.
What Else Was She Up To?
It wasn’t just surfing though. My memory started clicking back. I went searching specifically for stuff outside wrestling.
- Remembered she had that punk band, The Luchagors. Listened to a couple of tracks again. Still pretty raw.
- Then saw she co-hosted some WWE shows here and there, like pre-show panels. So she never totally left the orbit.
- Found out she even wrote an autobiography. Didn’t know that, might have to check it out sometime. See her side of things.
- And yeah, you can’t look up Lita without bumping into the whole Edge situation. That was a wild time back in the day, caused a massive stir. Looks like they split ages ago, around 2006.
Making Sense of It Now
Putting it all together, it makes her recent return feel different. It’s not like some old timer just needing a paycheck. She dipped out, lived life, did music, traveled, but still kept a toe in the wrestling world through hosting or occasional appearances. She wasn’t just sitting around.

So seeing her back in the ring in 2023, winning gold? It kinda fits. She seems to just pop back in when it feels right for her, does something cool, then maybe goes back to her other stuff. She defined a whole era for women wrestlers, doing moonsaults when others weren’t. Seems like she’s still doing things her own way, which is pretty cool to see.
