Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through my little adventure with something called “* fantasy.” Heard about it, thought it sounded cool, and figured, “Why not give it a shot?” So, here’s how it all went down.

First off, I started by digging around online. I wanted to see what “* fantasy” was all about. Found some stuff about character art and design, looked pretty rad. Then, I decided to actually do something, not just look at pictures. I’m talking about actually trying to create something inspired by this guy’s work.
Next, I grabbed my trusty drawing tablet and fired up my art program. I usually use Krita, because it’s free and does pretty much everything I need. I sketched out a basic character idea – a kind of warrior-mage type. Nothing too fancy, just wanted to get the pose and general vibe down. Think strong silhouette, you know?
Then, the real fun began: the details. I started adding armor, clothes, and a few magical-looking bits and bobs. This is where I really tried to channel that “*” feel. Lots of intricate patterns, flowing lines, and a bit of a dark, gritty edge. I spent hours just tweaking the design, adding little flourishes here and there. It was a proper time sink, but kinda therapeutic, to be honest.
After the line art was done (and I mean really done – I’m a bit of a perfectionist), I moved on to colors. I picked a muted palette, lots of grays, browns, and maybe a splash of deep red for some contrast. I laid down the base colors first, then started shading and highlighting. This is where things started to really pop.
And finally, I added some finishing touches. A bit of texture here and there, some subtle lighting effects, and a few extra details in the background. I even threw in a bit of a magical glow around the character’s hands, just for good measure. It took me a couple of days to finish the whole thing, working on it in between other stuff.

So, that’s pretty much it. It was a fun little project, and I learned a thing or two along the way. Plus, I’ve got a cool new piece of art to add to my collection, even if it is just sitting on my hard drive. Now I need to figure out what to try next!
