Okay, so today I decided to do something special, something that’s been on my mind for a while. I wanted to create a really simple tribute, you know, just a little something to show my appreciation. The idea was “jordan loves mom,” plain and simple.

First, I brainstormed a bit. What could I actually do? I’m not a painter, not a sculptor, definitely not a poet. But I do mess around with basic graphic design sometimes, so that’s where I headed.
I fired up my old, trusty computer. Seriously, this thing is ancient, but it gets the job done. I opened up my go-to design program – nothing fancy, just something I’m comfortable with. I created a new, blank canvas. My mind was working.
Next, I started playing around with fonts. I wanted something that felt, I don’t know, warm and personal. Not too formal, not too childish. After trying out like, a million different options, I settled on one that seemed just right. It had a bit of a handwritten vibe, which I liked.
Then came the colors. I didn’t want anything too flashy. I picked out a soft, muted background color, kind of a pale, dusty rose. For the text, I went with a darker, contrasting shade, but still in the same color family. It looked pretty good, I thought.
I typed out the words: “jordan loves mom”. I centered them on the canvas. I fiddled with the spacing a little bit, making sure it looked balanced. I even added a little heart graphic, just a simple outline, nothing too over-the-top.

I spent a good hour just tweaking things. Moving the heart around, trying different sizes for the text, adjusting the colors ever so slightly. You know how it is, you keep making tiny changes until it finally feels right.
The Final Result
Finally, I saved the image. I looked at it one last time. It wasn’t a masterpiece, but that wasn’t the point. It was a genuine, heartfelt expression, and that’s all that mattered. I felt pretty good about it. Simple, but effective. And I knew it would be appreciated, and that’s the best feeling.
