Okay, here’s my attempt at writing a blog post in the style you described, about “Jon Jones vs Dominick Reyes”:

Man, that Jon Jones vs. Dominick Reyes fight, I still think about it. So, the other day, I was thinking about how close that fight was, so I decided to go back and re-watch it. Needed to see it with my own two eyes again, ya know?
Getting Started
First thing I did was, I pulled up the fight. There are a lot of places, you can use to watch this fight.
The Rewatch
Okay, so I’m watching it, round by round. First round, Reyes is looking good, landing some shots. Jones looks, I dunno, a little slow? Maybe surprised by Reyes’ speed?
- Round 1: Reyes is aggressive. Jones is cautious. Edge to Reyes.
- Round 2: Still looks like Reyes is pushing the pace. Jones starting to find his range a little. Another close one, I’d give it to Reyes again.
- Round 3: This is where it starts getting tricky. Jones is landing more, but Reyes is still throwing heat. I was scribbling notes like crazy. This one is super close.
- Round 4: Jones is definitely taking over now. He’s getting takedowns, controlling Reyes on the ground. Reyes looks tired. Clear round for Jones.
- Round 5: More of the same, Jones’ wrestling is just too much. Reyes is game, but he’s fading. Jones wins the round.
My Scoring
After watching the whole fight, I got out my notebook and started looking at the notes, I was initially leaning towards Reyes. I thought he did enough in those early rounds. But then, I’m thinking about the “damage” criteria, and how Jones really started to control things in the later rounds.
I scored it, and, It felt weird scoring it for Jones after seeing Reyes come out so strong.
The Debate
It’s one of those fights that, you can watch it ten times, and get ten different opinions. Some people swear Reyes won. Others say Jones did enough. Me? I’m still kinda on the fence. I see both sides.
It’s just a reminder of how tough judging fights can be. And how much fun it is to argue about them!
