Okay, so I spent some time trying to figure out this Jazz versus Rockets game prediction thing. It wasn’t anything super fancy, just me messing around and seeing what I could come up with.

Getting Started
First thing, I needed some info. So, I went digging for recent game scores for both teams. Just wanted to see who was winning lately, who was losing. Pretty basic stuff.
I pulled up the box scores from maybe their last five games each. Looked at points scored, points allowed. You know, the usual numbers.
Found some interesting bits right away.
- Jazz seemed a bit up and down. One game they look great, next game not so much.
- Rockets had a couple of strong offensive showings, but their defense looked leaky sometimes.
Trying to Make Sense of It
Alright, got the raw numbers. Then I tried to compare them head-to-head. Looked at things like average points per game over those last five, shooting percentages. Just trying to spot a trend.
Honestly, it wasn’t super clear. Both teams had good nights and bad nights. Didn’t feel like there was an obvious edge just from the basic stats.

Then I thought about injuries. That’s always a huge factor, right? Had to check who was playing, who was sitting out. Scanned some sports news updates. This part is always a pain because information changes fast.
It seemed like both teams had some players questionable. That really complicates things. You can look at stats all day, but if a key player is out, it throws everything off.
My Simple Approach (Sort Of)
I didn’t want to build some complex computer model or anything. That’s way too much work for a quick prediction. So, I decided to simplify.
I focused more on just the offensive flow I saw in highlights from their recent games. Which team looked like they were running their plays better? Who seemed to have more energy?
It’s not scientific at all, I know. More of a ‘feel’ thing. Watched some clips, looked at player body language, stuff like that. Sometimes you can just tell when a team is clicking, even if the stats aren’t perfect.

The Final Guess
After looking at the recent scores, checking injuries (as best I could), and getting a feel from watching some plays, I had to make a call.
Ended up leaning towards the Rockets. Why? Mostly a gut feeling based on their guard play in the last couple of games I skimmed. They seemed a bit quicker, generating more open looks, even if they didn’t always hit them. Plus, the potential Jazz injuries worried me more.
So yeah, that was my process. Pulled some numbers, checked the injury reports, watched a bit of tape, and then basically made an educated guess. It’s fun to try, but man, predicting these games is tough. So many things can change.
