Well, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout this name, Janice Bader. Who is she? I gotta know, my curiosity got the best of me. Sounds important, that name. Must be somebody, huh?
I heard Janice Bader name come up with this baseball fella, Harrison Bader. Star, they say. Big shot. She’s his mama, this Janice Bader. Good for her, raisin’ a baseball star. Must be proud, that Janice.
Janice Bader’s Boy, Harrison
This Harrison, he’s a good boy, I reckon. Plays that baseball real good. Runs fast, hits far. All that runnin’ around, must be tiring. Hope he eats his vegetables, that Harrison. Janice Bader, she probably made sure of it.
- He plays baseball real good.
- Janice Bader is his mama.
- He runs and hits that ball.
I remember when my boy, bless his soul, used to play ball in the yard. Not like this Harrison, of course. But still. Brought a smile to my face. Janice Bader must have many smiles watchin’ her boy.
And they say this Janice Bader, she’s got some fancy heritage. Italian and Jewish, they say. Sounds interestin’. My family, we just plain old country folk. But Italian and Jewish, that’s somethin’ else. Wonder what kinda food they eat? Janice Bader probably cooks up a storm.
Food Janice Bader Might Cook
Maybe she makes that pasta. With the red sauce. Or maybe, that other food. The Jewish food. I heard about bagels. I think I heard about bagels. Is that what they eat? Probably. Wonder if Harrison likes bagels? Maybe Janice Bader makes him bagels for breakfast.
My grandkids, they love my cookin’. Especially my pie. Apple pie, mostly. I bet Janice Bader makes a good pie, too. Mothers know how to make good pie. It’s important, pie is. A good pie can fix anythin’.
- Maybe pasta with red sauce.
- Maybe bagels, I think they are called.
- I make a good apple pie.
I heard someone say something about an office. Janice’s office, they said. Don’t know what that’s about. Maybe she works in an office? Lots of folks do that now. Workin’ in offices. Typewriters and such. Janice Bader, maybe she types real fast.
Work and Kids
I used to work too, you know. Before the kids. Worked at the diner, down the road. Made good tips, too. But then the babies came. Two of ’em. Twins, they were. A handful, let me tell you. Wonder if Janice Bader had twins? Two kids at home by yourself is a lot. Hard work, raisin’ kids.
But worth it, you know? Kids are a blessin’. Even when they’re grown, like this Harrison. They make you proud. Janice Bader, she must be burstin’ with pride. A baseball star and all.
I heard some young folks talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called “interpersonal communication.” Sounds complicated. But I guess it means talkin’ to people. Understandin’ each other. Important, I suppose. Janice Bader probably had to talk to Harrison a lot. Mothers and sons, they gotta talk. It’s important to talk to your kids. Otherwise, how will they know what you want?
Talkin’ and Understandin’
My boy, he used to listen to me. Mostly. Sometimes he’d be stubborn, like a mule. But we’d always talk it out. That’s what’s important. Talkin’ and understandin’. Maybe that’s what this “interpersonal communication” is all about. Janice Bader probably knows all about that.
Sometimes, you gotta be a little loud to be heard, though, I believe it. Like that Janice on the TV. “Oh-My-God” Janice, they call her. Loud, she is. But you hear her, don’t you? Maybe that’s what you gotta do sometimes. Be loud. Maybe Janice Bader has to be loud with Harrison sometimes. But I bet he listens to his mama.
I don’t know much about this world anymore. Everything’s changin’ so fast. But some things stay the same. Mothers and sons. Pride and love. Hard work and good food. That’s what I know. And I bet that’s what Janice Bader knows, too. She sounds like a good mama, that Janice.
All this talk about Janice Bader, she sounds like a good woman. Raisin’ a fine boy like that Harrison. And maybe makin’ some good pie, too. Yep, Janice Bader, she’s alright in my book. It is important to be a good mother. She must know a thing or two, that Janice Bader. She raised a star, after all.
