Alright, so I’ve been messing around with my CS:GO settings lately, trying to find that sweet spot, you know? And I thought, why not try out what the pros use? So I went down the Stewie2k rabbit hole. Here’s how it went down.

First, I gotta find his settings. Did some digging, found a few websites listing them out. Seemed pretty consistent, so I felt good about it.
The Gear
I already have a decent setup, but I noticed Stewie uses a BenQ monitor and a specific Logitech mouse. Not gonna lie, I wasn’t about to drop cash on new gear just for this experiment. I stuck with my own stuff. No biggie.
Video Settings
This is where things got interesting. I copied his resolution (4:3 stretched, felt weird at first) and turned most of the graphics settings to low or very low. My FPS definitely got a boost, which was nice.
- Resolution: 4:3, 1280×960 (stretched)
- Most settings: Low or Very Low
- Multicore Rendering:Enabled
Mouse Settings
I use a final mouse so, I jumped into my mouse settings and plugged in his DPI (400, pretty standard) and in-game sensitivity. Felt a little slow at first, but I figured I’d get used to it.

- DPI: 400
- In-game Sensitivity: 1.8(whatever his settings said)
- eDPI: 720
- Polling Rate:1000 Hz
Crosshair
This was the fun part. I used a crosshair generator map from the Steam Workshop. Made it super easy to copy his exact crosshair settings. It’s a small, static crosshair, pretty different from what I was using before.
To apply the settings, I did the following.
- Subscribed and downloaded a config generator map in the steam workshop.
- Once in the map. Just select the pre-configured pro crosshair settings.
The Results?
Okay, so after playing a few matches, here’s the deal: My aim felt… different. Not necessarily better, but different. The lower sensitivity forced me to use my arm more, which felt more precise, but also more tiring. The stretched resolution took some getting used to, but it did make the player models seem a bit wider, which maybe helped with hitting those headshots? I don’t know, man, placebo effect is a thing.
Honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll stick with all of Stewie’s settings. But it was a cool experiment. It definitely showed me that even small tweaks can have a big impact on how the game feels. I’ll probably keep messing around and find what works best for me. Might steal a few things from Stewie, though. Don’t tell him.
