So, I’ve been messing around with this game, MLB The Show, trying to figure out how to get traded to a different team. It’s a bit of a process, but I finally cracked the code, and now I’m here to share how I did it.
First off, I started a new “Road to the Show” career. This is where you create your own player and guide him through the minor leagues all the way up to the majors. I spent a good chunk of time just playing games, racking up those stats. You gotta show those scouts you’re worth trading for, right?
I noticed that the better I played, the more I heard from my agent about other teams being interested. This is key. You want to be the star of the show, the guy everyone’s talking about. I’m talking hitting home runs, making amazing catches, stealing bases – the whole nine yards. Basically, I just played my heart out every single game.
Then, after a few seasons, my agent finally asked me if I wanted to be traded. Of course, I said yes! This is what I’d been working towards. It wasn’t immediate, though. I had to wait a bit longer, but eventually, it happened. I got that sweet call saying I’d been traded to the team I wanted.
Here’s the thing, though. If you’re not patient enough to wait for your agent to bring it up, there’s another way. You can actually request a trade yourself. I tried this out too, just to see how it worked.
- I went into the “My Player” menu.
- Then I clicked on “Interactions”.
- And there it was, “Request Trade”.
I clicked it, and boom, the request was sent. But, just a heads-up, it’s not guaranteed that your request will be granted. The team might just say “nope”.
Some Extra Stuff I Learned
There’s this thing called the “10 & 5 rule” in the real MLB. If a player’s been in the league for 10 years and with the same team for the last 5, he can veto any trade. Some players also have “no-trade” clauses in their contracts, which is basically the same thing. I found this out the hard way when I tried to trade for a veteran player in Franchise mode, and it wouldn’t let me.
Oh, and if you’re playing Franchise mode, there’s a “Force Trades” option in the settings. I turned that on, and it let me make any trade I wanted. It felt a bit like cheating, but hey, it’s there if you want to use it.
So yeah, that’s my experience with getting traded in MLB The Show. It takes some time and effort, but it’s definitely doable. Just remember to play well, be patient, and don’t be afraid to ask for what you want!
