Okay, so I’ve been messing around in Wuthering Waves recently, and let me tell you, finding some of these items is a real pain. Today, I want to talk about the Rusty Data Chip. It’s this old, beat-up data chip, kinda like a rusty old bucket you’d find in the backyard. I stumbled upon it while I was exploring near the Dim Forest.
Finding the Rusty Data Chip
-
First things first, I teleported to the Dim Forest resonance nexus. From there, I headed over to a marked location on the map. I think it’s some kind of old camp or something. I can’t remember the name of the quest, I guess it was “When the Forest is No Longer Dim” or something like that. Anyway, the chip was just lying around there.

Now, this chip isn’t just some random junk. Apparently, it’s used to open a nearby iron cage. It’s so rusty though, I wonder if it will work. I tried to open it, but it’s not an easy task.
-
Besides using it for this cage, I heard that you can hand over these Data Chips, along with Torn Pages, to some Storyteller character. You find these items in places like Dim Forest, Whining Aix’s Mire, Tiger’s Maw, and Norfall Barrens. In exchange for turning them in, you get some rewards and supposedly learn more about these areas. It’s just some extra game lore, not that interesting I think.
-
I also ran into another thing called “Torn Pages” while I was at it. There’s this one page, I think it was the fourth one, that I found in Yeming Village. I teleported to the Resonance Beacon there and just walked straight ahead to a bunch of boxes. The page was just sitting on top of one of them. Easy peasy.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the Rusty Data Chip in Wuthering Waves. It’s a bit of a scavenger hunt, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? I spent almost half a day on these things, just for some rewards. It’s kinda exhausting, to be honest.
