Alright, so you wanna know how much them baseball mascot fellas make, huh? Well, it ain’t as simple as lookin’ at a price tag on a pig at the market, I tell ya.
First off, it ain’t the same for everyone. Some of them mascots, they make a good chunk of change, and some, well, they get by. I heard tell some of them make as little as 25,000 dollars a year. That ain’t bad money, but it ain’t gonna buy you a new tractor neither.
- Some make a little, like 25,000 a year.
- Some make more, like 50,000 or 60,000 a year. That’s pretty good, ya know?
- And then you got the big shots, like that green monster fella in Boston. Heard he makes a whole lot more, like 250,000 a year! Land sakes, that’s more than most folks around here see in a lifetime!
Now, how do they make that money? Well, it ain’t just for showin’ up and wavin’ their big ol’ heads around. They gotta work for it. They gotta dance, and jump, and act all silly. Sometimes they gotta mess with the other team’s fans, you know, pourin’ popcorn on ‘em or somethin’. Sounds like a hoot, but it’s work, I tell ya.
They gotta go to all the games, and sometimes they gotta go to other events too, like school visits and town fairs. It’s a job, just like milkin’ cows or plantin’ corn, only maybe a bit more…colorful.
So, how much per game? Well, I heard it’s anywhere from 450 to 2000 bucks a game. That Wally fella from Boston, he gets the most, 2000 a game! Must be nice. The average though, that’s around 50,000 or 60,000 dollars a year. That’s what most of them make, I reckon.
But listen here, it ain’t just about the money. Them mascots, they gotta love the game, and they gotta love makin’ folks happy. You gotta be a bit of a showman, ya know? Can’t be shy, that’s for sure. Gotta be willin’ to make a fool of yourself a little bit.
And it ain’t always easy. Them suits get hot and heavy, especially in the summer. And sometimes folks get mean. They yell and boo, and sometimes they even throw things. You gotta have thick skin, that’s for sure. But mostly, folks love the mascots. They’re part of the team, just like the players.
Now, I heard tell there’s this one basketball mascot, a mountain lion or somethin’, over in Denver. They say he makes a whole lot more than any baseball mascot. Like, 625,000 dollars a year! Can you believe that? That’s enough to buy a whole farm, and a new truck, and maybe even a fancy boat! But that’s basketball, not baseball. We’re talkin’ baseball here.
So, to sum it up, them baseball mascots make different amounts, dependin’ on who they are and where they work. Some make a little, some make a lot. But most of them make a decent livin’, and they get to have some fun while they’re at it. It ain’t a bad gig, if you can get it. But you gotta be willin’ to sweat a little, and you gotta be willin’ to put on a big fuzzy head and act like a fool. Not everyone can do that, you know?
And one more thing, don’t go thinkin’ it’s all just fun and games. They work hard them fellas, runnin’ around and hypin’ folks up. It ain’t easy work and sometimes I hear tell they work year-round with community events and such so it ain’t just the game season they’re workin’ neither. Gotta give credit where credits due, they earn their keep.
So there you have it. That’s the long and short of it, best as I can tell ya. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
