Well, let me tell ya ’bout that Wrestlemania 1 thing, ya know, the one they had way back when. I reckon it was a pretty big deal, even if it wasn’t like the fancy stuff they do now.
First Wrestlemania, When Was It?
Okay, so this Wrestlemania 1, they had it on March 31st, 1985. Yep, 1985! That’s a long, long time ago. I remember it was springtime ’cause the flowers were startin’ to pop up and the weather was gettin’ a bit warmer, ya know? They held it in this big place called Madison Square Garden. Fancy name, huh? Sounded like a place for rich folks, but they had wrestlin’ there, go figure.

How Long Was That Wrestlemania Show?
Now, how long was it? That’s what you’re askin’, right? Well, it wasn’t no short little thing, that’s for sure. They had a whole bunch of matches, I think they said it was nine of ’em. Nine! Can you believe it? All them fellas beatin’ each other up for hours. I heard it went on for a good few hours, maybe three or four, somethin’ like that. They didn’t have all them fancy pre-shows and after-shows like they do now. Just good ol’ wrestlin’, one match after another.
Who Was Wrestlin’ Back Then?
Oh, they had some characters back then, lemme tell ya. There was this fella, Hulk Hogan, big fella, muscles everywhere. He was the champ, I think. And there was this other fella, Mr. T, I think he was an actor or somethin’, but he was wrestlin’ too. And this scary lookin’ fella, the Undertaker, he wasn’t around yet, that was later. But there were plenty of other fellas, all shapes and sizes, just beatin’ the tar outta each other. It was somethin’ to see, that’s for sure.
Watchin’ It On TV, Sort Of
Now, back then, you couldn’t just turn on your TV and watch it like you do now. No sir. They had this thing called “closed-circuit television.” Sounded fancy, but it just meant they showed it in certain places, like big theaters or arenas. You had to go buy a ticket to watch it, like goin’ to the movies. But a whole lotta folks watched it that way, they said over a million people! That’s a lot of folks, even for back then.
Wrestlemania 1, A Big Deal Back Then
Even though it wasn’t like the big, fancy shows they have now, with all the lights and fireworks, Wrestlemania 1 was a big deal. It was the first one, ya see? It was like the start of somethin’ special. Folks still talk about it today, so it musta been somethin’ else. They called it “The Greatest Wrestling Event of All Time!” Well, maybe it was, for back then. Now they got all sorts of fancy moves and storylines, but back then, it was just good, honest wrestlin’.
Wrestlemania Nowadays, So Different
Now, these Wrestlemanias they have now, they’re somethin’ else. They go on for hours and hours, two nights sometimes! And they got all these fancy lights and music and entrances. It’s like a big ol’ circus, not just a wrestlin’ show. Back then, it was simpler, ya know? Just a ring, some ropes, and two fellas tryin’ to pin each other. But it was still excitin’, maybe even more excitin’ in a way, cause it was all new.
Remembering The Old Days
You know, sometimes I think about those old days and I miss ‘em. Things were simpler, even wrestlin’. It wasn’t about all the fancy stuff, it was about the fight, about who was the toughest. And that Wrestlemania 1, it was the start of all that. So, how long was it? Long enough to make a mark, that’s for sure. Long enough that folks are still talkin’ about it all these years later. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it?
Some Folks Get Nostalgic About It
I hear some folks get all teary-eyed thinkin’ ’bout the old days of wrestling. They say it reminds them of happier times, you know, when things weren’t so complicated. Maybe it’s true. Wrestlemania 1, it was a simpler time, that’s for sure. No fancy pay-per-views, no internet, just good ol’ wrestling. It brings back memories, even for an old lady like me, even though I wasn’t there in person. I heard about it, though, and that was enough. It was a different world back then, a simpler world, and Wrestlemania 1 was a part of it.
