Alright, let me walk you through how I got that Vial of Ocean Water in Dreamlight Valley. It popped up, maybe for a quest or something, I can’t quite recall which one exactly, but I knew I needed it.

Finding the Right Container
So, the first thing I realized was, you can’t just bottle ocean water with your bare hands, right? Makes sense. I needed an Empty Vial. I didn’t have one just lying around in my chests, checked those first, naturally. My next thought was the crafting station. Always check the crafting station!
I headed over there and scrolled through the recipes. Found it! The Empty Vial recipe. What did it need? Glass. Okay, simple enough. And how do you get Glass? You need Sand.
- So, step one was actually getting Sand. I took a quick run down to Dazzle Beach, scooped up a bunch of Sand near the water.
- Then, back to the crafting station. Used the Sand to craft Glass.
- Finally, used that newly crafted Glass to make the Empty Vial itself. Took a few clicks, but got it done.
Getting the Ocean Water
Okay, phase two. With my shiny new Empty Vial in my inventory, I needed the actual ocean water. Pretty obvious where to go for that!
I went straight back to Dazzle Beach. Didn’t need to go far out or anything fancy. I just walked right up to the edge where the water laps the shore. You know, where the sand is wet.
I stood there for a moment, looking for some kind of prompt. Sometimes the game makes things sparkle or gives you a button hint. And sure enough, when I got close enough to the water’s edge, the little interaction prompt appeared.

I hit the button, my character did a little animation, dipping the vial into the sea. And just like that, the Empty Vial in my inventory changed. It became the Vial of Ocean Water I needed.
All Done!
And that was pretty much it. Had the vial, ready to go for whatever task required it. The main thing was remembering (or figuring out) that you need to craft the Empty Vial first using Glass, which comes from Sand. Once you have the vial, just visit the beach and interact with the water’s edge. Took me a few minutes, mostly gathering the sand, but wasn’t too bad at all. Hope this helps you out if you’re stuck on the same thing!
