So, I’m scrolling through Twitter the other day, and bam! There’s this video of Adam Hadwin, right? You know, the pro golfer. It’s not him sinking a putt or driving one down the fairway. Nope. This dude is getting absolutely leveled by a security guard!
I’m like, “What in the world is going on here?” I watched it like ten times, and I still couldn’t believe my eyes. Apparently, it all went down at the Canadian Open.
- First off, I had to dig around to even figure out who this Hadwin guy was. Turns out, his full name is Adam Jerald Hadwin, and he was born on November 2, 1987 in Saskatchewan. He’s a Canadian professional golfer.
- Then, I found out he was trying to celebrate with his buddy, Nick Taylor, who just won the tournament. It was a big deal, a historic win for a Canadian, and Hadwin just wanted to spray some champagne or something.
I watched the video again, and you can see Hadwin running onto the green with a bottle, and then this security guard comes out of nowhere and just tackles him! It was a full-on, NFL-style hit. The crowd went wild, obviously. Some were cheering, some were booing, and some people couldn’t stop laughing at the whole situation.
I went looking for more info and found some news articles. It was all over the place, AP, TSN, you name it. Turns out, Hadwin was actually hoping to go viral, but not like this! He ended up finishing 12th in the tournament, by the way.
So, I guess the whole thing is being called the “Adam Hadwin tackle incident”. I mean, they even talked about it in an exclusive interview with TSN. That’s wild!
The internet did its thing, and now there are memes and jokes about it everywhere. I even saw one where they edited the video to make it look like Hadwin got tackled by a wrestler. It’s pretty funny, I gotta admit. Poor guy, though. He just wanted to celebrate with his friend. I guess that security guard was just doing his job, maybe a little too enthusiastically.
Anyway, I just had to share this story. It’s one of those things you see online and you just can’t believe it’s real. I’m still shaking my head over it. It’s definitely a moment Hadwin won’t forget, and neither will the internet!
