Okay, let’s talk about tracking down one of those Michael Jordan hologram basketball cards. It wasn’t exactly rocket science, but it took a bit of digging.

Getting Started
So, this whole thing kicked off because I was rummaging through some old boxes. Found a few cards from back when I was a kid, nothing special, but it got me thinking. I specifically remembered those shiny hologram cards, especially the Jordan ones. They just looked cool, you know? Decided right then I wanted to get one again, just to have.
The Hunt
First place I looked was online, obviously. Typed it into the usual spots, the big auction sites and marketplaces. Man, there were tons listed. Way more than I expected. But you gotta sift through them.
- Some were graded, sealed in plastic cases with numbers on them. Looked fancy, but usually cost a lot more. Wasn’t really looking for that, just a raw card in decent shape.
- Some looked pretty beat up. Creased corners, scratches on the hologram. Definitely wanted to avoid those.
- Lots of different years and sets. Had to figure out which specific hologram card I remembered or just liked the look of. Spent some time just clicking through images, comparing.
I also checked a couple of forums dedicated to card collecting. Sometimes you find people selling or trading directly there. Didn’t find exactly what I wanted immediately, but it was good to see what people were talking about, price-wise and condition-wise.
Finding the One
After a few days of casual searching, I narrowed it down. Found a listing for the specific Upper Deck hologram card I had in mind. The pictures looked clear, showed the front and back. Crucially, the hologram part looked intact, not all scratched up. The seller had good feedback, seemed legit. Price wasn’t rock bottom, but it felt fair for the condition shown in the photos. It wasn’t graded, just a regular card, which was fine by me.
Making it Happen
So, I went ahead and bought it. Just clicked the button, paid the money. Simple enough. Then came the waiting part. Always hate waiting for stuff in the mail. Took about a week, maybe a bit less.

The package finally arrived. Just a small padded envelope. Opened it up carefully. Inside, the card was in one of those thin plastic sleeves, tucked inside a slightly harder plastic holder. Pulled it out.
The Result
And there it was. The Michael Jordan hologram card. Held it up to the light, tilted it back and forth. Yep, hologram was good, card looked clean. Corners were pretty sharp. Matched the pictures and description. Felt pretty satisfying to have tracked it down. It wasn’t some super rare treasure hunt, but it was the specific card I set out to find. Stuck it on a shelf with a few other bits and pieces I like. Job done.
