Well, now, if you ain’t heard ’bout the Washington Commanders and their Color Rush jerseys, let me tell ya, you ain’t been payin’ attention to no football! These uniforms, they sure stand out, I tell ya that much. It’s like a big ol’ splash of color right in front of ya. Now, I ain’t a big city lady, but even I can see that these uniforms got somethin’ special goin’ on.
Now, first things first, what’s all this ‘Color Rush’ business about? It started a few years back, y’see. The NFL decided that instead of the regular old home teams wearin’ their color jerseys and the away teams in white, they wanted to do somethin’ different. They wanted teams to wear all their color, so it’s like a battle of color vs. color! Sounds fun, don’t it? They called it the Color Rush, and they sure did get people’s attention with it. Now, I reckon not all teams kept it up after the program ended in 2018, but some, like our Commanders, kept on rockin’ them bold, bright jerseys.
The Washington Commanders, bless their hearts, they got a real good look with their Color Rush gear. You ever seen that burgundy and gold combo? It’s enough to make ya want to shout ‘Hail to the Commanders!’ The burgundy, well, it’s a deep, rich color, kinda like the old wine they used to make back in the day. The gold? Well, it’s as bright as the summer sun. These two colors come together in the Commanders’ uniform, and I gotta say, they sure look mighty fine.
Now, folks might wonder, where do these colors come from? Well, let me tell ya a little somethin’. The burgundy is the main one, and it’s got its very own fancy name—Pantone: PMS 483 C, if you wanna get real technical. The gold’s called Pantone: PMS 1235 C, and it’s a bright yellowy gold. Them colors work together just like beans and cornbread, if you ask me!
Oh, and don’t think they just stopped with the jerseys. No, sir! The Commanders got all sorts of gear to go with these uniforms. From hats to t-shirts to them jerseys, they got it all. You can walk around and let everyone know you’re a fan of the team, whether you’re at home or out at the store. Ain’t no shame in sportin’ some Color Rush gear, even if you’re not watchin’ the game that day!
The helmet, well, that’s somethin’ too. They got their numbers right on them helmets, and don’t forget the Washington D.C. flag on the sleeve—pretty neat, don’t you think? And that sharp yellow trim just makes everything pop, like the fireworks on the 4th of July.
Some folks might not like the Color Rush jerseys. I’ve heard a few grumblin’ voices sayin’ it’s too bright, or maybe it don’t fit the tradition of the old days when things were simpler. But I say, let the team wear what makes ’em feel good. If them bright colors help ‘em play better, well then, I’m all for it!
The NFL sure did a good thing when they brought the Color Rush to life. Sure, it wasn’t a permanent deal, but it gave folks somethin’ new to look at. And now, even though they don’t do it every year, I reckon it’s still somethin’ that’ll stay in folks’ hearts. Y’know, every time you see them players run out in their bright jerseys, it’s like they’re bringin’ a little bit of joy with ‘em.
So, if you’re a fan of the Washington Commanders, or just a fan of bright colors in general, I’d say you better get you some Color Rush gear. Ain’t nothin’ like showin’ your pride, and these jerseys sure do let you do that! Get yourself a jersey, or a hat, or a t-shirt, and show the world who you’re rootin’ for. Go Commanders!
