Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Genshin Impact lately, and one thing that always gets people talking is tier lists. Who’s the best? Who’s the worst? It’s a never-ending debate. So, I decided to make my own “genshin tier” list, just for fun, and to see if I could actually figure out a system that made sense to me.
First, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. Yeah, I’m old school like that. I could’ve used a spreadsheet, but I like the feeling of actually writing things down. I started by listing out all the characters I’ve used. This took a while, because, well, I’ve been playing for a while and have a decent roster.
Then came the hard part: figuring out my categories. I didn’t want to do the usual “S, A, B, C, D” thing. I wanted something a little different. I went with:
- “OMG Amazing” These guys are the top, best of the best.
- “Super Solid” Great characters, I use these ones all the time!
- “Pretty Good” They get the job done, no complaints.
- “Meh, situational” Ok,but only useful on a small occasion.
- “Bench Warmers” Sorry, guys, you’re just not seeing much action.
Next, I started placing characters into the categories. This is where things got REALLY subjective. My thought process went something like this: “Okay, I love using Ganyu for charged shots, so she’s definitely ‘OMG Amazing’. Hu Tao? Amazing damage, so another easy ‘OMG Amazing’.”
It took me a few hours, going back and forth, arguing with myself. “Is Bennett really ‘OMG Amazing’, or just ‘Super Solid’? I mean, his healing is insane, but…” It was a constant process of reevaluation.
I did some experiments in game. I took different teams into the Spiral Abyss and some tough domains, just to see how they performed in practice. This helped me refine my list even further. Some characters surprised me! Like, I thought Keqing was just “Pretty Good,” but after trying her out with a new build, she jumped up to “Super Solid.”
The Finished List
Eventually, I had a list I was (mostly) happy with. It’s definitely not perfect, and I’m sure other people will disagree with my choices. But that’s the beauty of it, right? It’s my tier list, based on my playstyle and my experiences.
And you know what? My list keeps on changing! Each time a new character comes in, and I keep on playing my favorite ones, their position may change. It is fine, because this list is always MY list.
