Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya’ll about somethin’ interestin’. It’s about these sports teams, yeah, the ones in that big city, Los Angeles, I think they call it. Big city, big teams, lots of hoopla!
Them Dodgers fellers, they’re pretty good at that baseball thing. You know, hittin’ the ball and runnin’ around. They even won that World Series thingy, not once, but twice! Beat them Yankees from New York, I heard. Folks in the city went plum crazy, yellin’ and cheerin’ and all.
Then there’s them basketball fellers, the Lakers. Seventeen championship thingamajigs they got hangin’ up! That’s a whole lotta winnin’, I reckon. They got some fellers runnin’ and jumpin’, throwin’ that ball through the hoop. Real tall them fellers are, like giants!
And it ain’t just them Dodgers and Lakers, no sirree! This city’s got more teams than you can shake a stick at. Let me see if I can remember ’em all. There’s the Rams and the Chargers, playin’ that football game. Big fellers, smashin’ into each other. Then there’s the Angels, another baseball team. Don’t rightly know why they need two baseball teams but, hey, it ain’t my business.
- Dodgers (baseball) – Won a bunch, real good.
- Lakers (basketball) – Even more wins, real tall fellers.
- Rams (football) – Smashin’ and bashin’ fellers.
- Chargers (football) – More smashin’ and bashin’.
- Angels (baseball) – Another baseball team, go figure.
- Clippers (basketball) – They play basketball too, just not as good as the Lakers, I reckon.
And that ain’t even the half of it! They got them soccer teams, LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC. Runnin’ around, kickin’ that ball with their feet. And hockey fellers too, the Kings and the Ducks. Skatin’ on ice, hittin’ that little puck thingy. Kings won a couple of times too, just like the Dodgers.
Oh, and can’t forget them Sparks ladies, playin’ basketball too. Gals are tough, just like the fellers. Don’t you go thinkin’ they ain’t! So many teams, it’s hard to keep track, I tell ya. But folks in the city, they love it. Cheerin’ and hollerin’, wearin’ them team colors. Makes for a lively time, I suppose.
I heard somethin’ ‘bout a pandemic, a sickness that stopped all them sports for a while. Can you imagine? No games, no cheerin’, just folks sittin’ at home twiddlin’ their thumbs. Glad that’s over and done with. Now they’re back at it, runnin’ and jumpin’, hittin’ and kickin’. City’s buzzin’ again.
So yeah, that city’s got a whole bunch of sports teams. More than any place I ever heard of. Must be somethin’ in the water there, makin’ folks so sporty. Or maybe they just like watchin’ other folks run around. Either way, it’s a big deal for them city folks. They sure do love them sports teams.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about sports got me hungry. Maybe I’ll watch one of them games on the TV later, see what all the fuss is about.
