Okay, so I’ve been hyped about FragPunk for a while, and seeing it’s coming to PS5 got me even more excited. I finally got my hands on it, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. Here’s how my first few hours with the game went down.

First thing I did was, obviously, download the game. No surprises there. The download was pretty smooth, didn’t take too long. Once it was ready, I jumped straight in.
Getting Started
The game throws you right into a tutorial. It’s pretty standard stuff – move here, shoot that, use this ability. I gotta say, the movement felt really fluid, even from the get-go. I was wall-running and sliding all over the place. Felt good, man.
The Card System
This is where things get interesting. FragPunk lets you pick cards at the start of each round that change up the gameplay. Some cards give you buffs, others debuff enemies, and some even change the environment. It’s pretty wild.
- I messed around with a card that gave me extra jump height. Super fun for getting to unexpected spots.
- There was another one that made my bullets chain to other enemies. Felt like a total badass.
First Few Matches
After the tutorial, I hopped into some online matches. The first couple were rough. I was getting my butt kicked, no doubt. The game is fast, and people who’ve been playing for a while already have some crazy strats.

But then, I started figuring things out. I started using the environment more, flanking enemies, and picking cards that actually matched my playstyle. Slowly but surely, I started getting some kills. Even won a few rounds!
Overall Impression
FragPunk on PS5 is shaping up to be something special. The fast-paced gameplay, combined with the card system, makes for some really unique matches. It’s definitely got a learning curve, but it’s rewarding when you start pulling off cool moves and winning rounds. I’m still figuring things out, and still have many card to discover, but I’m definitely hooked. Gonna keep playing and see how far I can go!
