Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show 23, and let me tell you, the grind can be REAL. I wanted to see if I could, you know, ease the process a bit. So I started looking into ways to maybe, just maybe, bend the rules a little.

My Little Experiment Begins
First, I just poked around the game’s menus. I was checking out the sliders, seeing if anything in the settings could give me an edge. I mean, it’s not really cheating if it’s built into the game, right?
I messed with the hitting and pitching difficulty, naturally. Cranked up my contact and power, lowered the CPU’s pitching consistency… you get the idea. It definitely made things easier, but it felt kinda…cheap. I wanted something more.
Going Deeper Down the Rabbit Hole
So, then I started looking online. I found a bunch of forums and Reddit threads. Lots of people were asking the same questions. “How do I get more Stubs?” “How do I level up my player faster?” It was a treasure trove of, shall we say, unorthodox strategies.
I tried following some of the tips:
- Flipping Cards:This involved buying low and selling high on the community market. Took some work, but I started to build up a decent Stub stash.
- Created Players:I noticed you can create players with maxed-out stats.I create the maxed-out and put him into my *’s a bit fun.
The Results?
Honestly, some of it worked. I definitely made progress faster than I would have otherwise. But, a big BUT here, it kind of took away from the fun. Part of the enjoyment of MLB The Show is the challenge, the slow build. When you shortcut everything, it feels less rewarding.

So, my final verdict? A little bit of “cheating” can be tempting, especially when you’re stuck. But, in the long run, it’s probably best to just play the game the way it’s meant to be played. The grind is part of the journey, man. Enjoy the ride!
