Okay, so I wanted to make a list of female wrestlers, and I figured, why not aim for a nice, round number like 270? Seemed like a good challenge. I started by, you know, just brainstorming.

Brain Dump Time
First, I grabbed a pen and paper, very old school, I know. Started jotting down every name that popped into my head. You got your big names, obviously:
- Chyna
- Trish Stratus
- Lita
- Beth Phoenix
- Awesome Kong
Those were the easy ones. Then I started thinking about some of the current wrestlers I really enjoy watching. Added a bunch more that way. Thinking about different promotions helped, too. I wrote down some from WWE, then AEW, and even some from the independent scene that I’ve seen on YouTube.
Getting Organized
After the initial brain dump, my paper was a mess. Names everywhere! So, I decided to get a little more organized. I started grouping them, roughly, by, like, their “era” or the promotion they’re most known for. This helped me see where I had gaps.
I realized I was heavy on certain eras and promotions, and pretty light on others. Specifically, I was missing lots from, Japanese promotions and some of the older, classic promotions. Time for some Googling.
Deep Dive Research
This is where things got a little tedious, gonna be honest. I spent hours browsing through, wrestling websites, and forums. I made sure to find their name.

It was a lot of clicking, reading, and adding names to my growing list. I even found some wrestlers I’d never heard of before, which was pretty cool. Learned a lot about the history of women’s wrestling in the process, which was an unexpected bonus!
The Final Stretch
After all that research, I was getting close! I had a spreadsheet full of names. Just needed a few more to hit that 270 mark. I went back to my original list and started thinking about some of the lesser-known wrestlers, maybe some up-and-comers I’d seen once or twice.
Finally, after much work, I had it—a list of 270 female wrestlers! It’s not perfect, and I’m sure I missed some, but I was pretty proud of myself for sticking with it. It was way more work than I initially thought, but a fun project overall!
