Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta figure out this football stuff, this… whatchamacallit… Josh Reynolds and Zay Jones thing. My grandson, he’s all worked up about it, says it’s gonna make or break his… fantasy team or somethin’. Don’t ask me, sounds like a whole lotta fuss over nothin’, but he’s a good boy, so I’m tryin’ to help.
So, first things first, we gotta see if these fellas are even gonna play. Don’t wanna pick a fella who’s sittin’ on the bench, right? Like pickin’ a lame horse for a race. No good. Gotta make sure they’re healthy and active. That’s what the young’uns say, “active.” Means they ain’t hurt, I guess.
Now, this “PPR” thing. Grandson says it means somethin’ about catchin’ balls. More catches, more points, somethin’ like that. Sounds like a hen laying eggs, more eggs, more money, I get it. So, this Zay Jones fella, they say he’s gonna get more of them catch-thingies. More points, I reckon. But is that enough? That’s the real question, ain’t it?
- Josh Reynolds: Seems like he ain’t doin’ so hot this year. My grandson showed me some numbers, said he’s way down the list, somethin’ like 98th best at his… position, whatever that means. Sounds like he’s at the back of the pack.
- Zay Jones: Now, they don’t say much about where he stands, but they do say he’s gonna get more catches. So, maybe he’s better? It’s all a guessing game to me, like tryin’ to figure out the weather.
They keep talkin’ ’bout “Week 14.” I guess that’s like sayin’ this Sunday’s game or somethin’. Gotta pick who to start for this week. Like pickin’ which rooster to put in the fight, gotta choose the tough one. But who’s tougher? That’s the puzzle.
Folks are sayin’ to look at their past games, their “stats” they call it. Like lookin’ at a cow’s teeth to see how old she is, I guess. See how well they did before. But Reynolds ain’t been doin’ too good lately, from what I hear. Jones, well, they don’t say much, but they do keep talkin’ about them catches.
Then there’s this “fantasy football advice.” Sounds like a bunch of city slickers tryin’ to tell you what to do. But maybe they know somethin’, I don’t know. They’re usin’ all these fancy words and numbers, makin’ my head spin. They got tools and projections and all sorts of things. Makes me wanna go back to milkin’ cows, at least that makes sense.
They’re comparin’ ’em, side-by-side, like two apples at the market. But it ain’t that simple, is it? It’s like comparin’ two dogs, one might be good at fetchin’ and the other might be good at guardin’. Different jobs, different strengths. Who’s gonna do better this week, that’s all that matters.
So, what’s a body to do? Well, I reckon if Reynolds ain’t been doin’ so hot, and Jones is supposed to get more catches, then maybe Jones is the one to pick. It’s a gamble, like plantin’ seeds, you never know what’s gonna grow. But you gotta make a choice, gotta trust your gut. Or, you know, listen to them city slickers with their fancy numbers. My grandson, he’ll be happy either way, long as I try to help. And that’s all that matters to this old woman.
And remember, this is just for one week, this “Week 14.” Next week, it might all change. Just like the weather, it’s always changin’. Gotta keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. That’s how you survive in the country, and I reckon that’s how you win at this football game too, even if it’s just pretendin’
.
So, in the end, I’m tellin’ my grandson to go with Zay Jones. He seems like the better bet for this week, for gettin’ them catch-thingies and points. But don’t quote me on it, I ain’t no expert. I’m just an old woman tryin’ to make sense of this crazy football world. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
One last thing, don’t forget to consider if there any injures or some such with the players before the game, it can mess everything up. Just like a storm can ruin a good crop, a hurt player is no good to anyone. Keep an eye on the news, that’s what my grandson does, always glued to that phone of his.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say on this Josh Reynolds and Zay Jones business. Good luck to y’all, and may the best team, or whatever it is, win. Now, I’m off to bed , this thinking is tiring for an old woman like me.
