Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Erica Herman gal. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout her and that golf fella, Tiger Woods. Seems like they was a thing, you know, like boyfriend and girlfriend, or whatever them fancy city folks call it these days.
Now, I ain’t one for gossip, but the news, it just flies around like them crows in the cornfield. So, I hear tell this Erica, she used to be with Tiger. For a long time, they say. Don’t know how long, time flies when you gettin’ old, I tell ya.
Then, things got messy. Real messy. Like when my chickens get into the garden and tear up everything. They sayin’ she had some kind of paper, a legal thingy, that she didn’t like. An’ NDA, they called it. Sounded like a whole lotta trouble to me. Said she couldn’t talk ’bout Tiger or somethin’.
- First, she was fightin’ it, this NDA.
- Then, she just up and quit fightin’. Said, “Never mind,” I guess.
Folks was whisperin’ ’bout her sayin’ bad things ’bout Tiger, somethin’ ’bout…well, never you mind. It ain’t polite to repeat such things. But then, she said she didn’t say them things after all. Changed her mind quicker than the weather ’round here.
They got them emails, you know, the kind you send on that there computin’ machine. From way back in 2017. Showin’ somethin’ ’bout Erica and Tiger. I don’t know what they show, I ain’t never seen one of them emails myself. Just hearin’ tell from the young’uns what’s always on their phones.
This whole thing, it’s been all over the news. Them TV folks and the newspaper folks, they just can’t get enough of it. Every time I turn on the radio, there they are, talkin’ ’bout Erica and Tiger. Makes a body tired, all that fussin’ and hollerin’.
Seems like she was important to him, this Tiger fella. I mean, they was together a long time, or so they say. And now, she’s droppin’ all them legal things and not sayin’ those bad things no more. Just kinda disappearin’ from the news, I reckon.
I don’t understand these city folk and their ways. All this fuss over papers and who said what. Back in my day, if you had a problem, you talked it out, maybe over a slice of apple pie. None of this lawyerin’ and courtin’. But times change, I guess. Even out here in the sticks, we hear about it all.
I hope they both find some peace, though. All this fightin’ and fussin’, it ain’t good for nobody. Life’s too short to be carryin’ on like that. Better to just settle down, maybe plant a garden, and enjoy the sunshine. That’s what I say, anyway. But nobody ever listens to an old woman like me.
Now, they sayin’ she’s just gone quiet. No more court, no more talkin’ bad. Maybe she just got tired of it all. Or maybe she got somethin’ she wanted, I don’t know. Like I said, I ain’t one for gossip, but it’s hard not to hear things when they’re flyin’ around like dust in a windstorm.
It’s a shame when things end up like this. You start out all lovey-dovey, and then it turns into a big ol’ mess. Just like when my prize-winning pumpkin rotted on the vine last year. Started out so promising, ended up nothin’ but a mushy mess. Makes you think, it does. Makes you think about how nothin’ lasts forever, ‘cept maybe the dirt under your feet.
Anyways, that’s the story as I heard it. Erica Herman and Tiger Woods. A whole lotta fuss and bother, if you ask me. But that’s just the way the world is, I guess. Full of surprises and folks doin’ things you can’t hardly understand.
And now, it seems like it’s all over. Quiet as a mouse in a church. Maybe that’s for the best. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just let things be. Like a river flowin’ to the sea, you just gotta let it go.
