Well, now, let me tell ya a bit ’bout Edorta Rahm. He’s the father of that famous golf feller, Jon Rahm, who’s been makin’ waves in the golf world lately. Now, Edorta’s not someone most folks might know by name, but his son sure has put that name on the map. You see, Edorta’s a businessman, don’t know exactly what kind of business, but I reckon he’s been workin’ hard for a long time to make a good life for his family. His wife, Angela, well, she’s a midwife, which I hear is mighty important work, bringin’ babies into the world. They sure did raise a fine son in Jon.
Jon Rahm, now, he’s one of the biggest names in golf. He’s from Spain, and his family has deep roots there. His father’s side comes from the Basque Country, in a place called Biscay, while his mama’s from Madrid. So, the boy’s got a bit of that Basque pride in him, and I reckon that helps him with his determination. I’ve heard Jon’s quite passionate about the Basque football team, Athletic Club Bilbao. Back in December of 2019, he was honored as a special guest at one of their games. Sounds like a real proud moment for the family.
Now, I don’t know much about golf, but I do know that when it comes to makin’ money, Jon Rahm sure knows how to do it. In fact, his signing bonus for joining the LIV Golf League was a whopping $300 million! Can you believe that? And that’s twice what any other golfer got. And half of it was paid upfront. I don’t know what they do with all that money, but I bet it don’t hurt to have a bit extra in the pocket.
But it ain’t just the money that makes Jon Rahm a success. Nah, it’s his mindset. I remember readin’ how after he became a father, his whole perspective on life and golf changed. He was a young man, but when he held his son Kepa in his arms back in April 2021, something shifted inside him. You see, life’s got a way of puttin’ things into perspective, especially when you’re raisin’ little ones. Jon now has a couple of other kids, too, a son named Eneko and a daughter named Alaia, who was born in September 2024. So, Jon’s a family man, just like his old man Edorta was.
Now, Edorta and Angela, they must be mighty proud of their son. It’s no small thing to raise a child who’s not only successful but also grounded. I hear Jon’s a down-to-earth feller despite all the fame and fortune. He’s got a lot of good things ahead of him, and who knows? Maybe one day, he’ll be sittin’ down with his own kids, tellin’ ’em stories about how their grandpa Edorta worked hard to build a life for ‘em. I reckon the Rahm family’s got a lot of stories to tell, and they sure do seem like a family that’s in it together.
So, while Edorta Rahm might not be a household name on his own, his legacy will surely live on through his son, Jon. And who knows? Maybe Jon will teach his kids about the importance of hard work and family, just like his daddy and granddaddy did. It’s always nice to see a family stick together and make somethin’ good outta life.
