So, I had this wild idea the other day. I was walking down the street, right? It was around, like, mid-afternoon, and I saw this pile of cardboard boxes near the street exit. They were all messed up, like someone had been rummaging through them. And it hit me – what if I could somehow use that to help me sleep better?
Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy. But I’ve been having a tough time sleeping lately. I’m tossing and turning all night, can’t seem to shut off my brain. I’ve tried all the usual stuff, you know, warm milk, reading, no screens before bed, you name it.
So, I grabbed a few of the cleaner-looking cardboard pieces. I was thinking, maybe I could make something out of them, something that could block out the light or noise or whatever it is that’s keeping me up. I dragged the cardboard pieces back home.
- First, I tried flattening them out, but they were all bent and ripped.
- Then I thought, maybe I could stack them up and make a makeshift headboard?
- I even attempted to tape some pieces together to create some kind of a barrier around my bed.
It was a total mess, to be honest. Cardboard dust everywhere, tape getting stuck to everything, and the whole thing looked ridiculous. My roommate came in and was like, “What in the world are you doing?” I just shrugged and said, “Trying to get some sleep, man!”
I did manage to create a somewhat decent headboard with the cardboard. I placed it against the wall behind my bed. Then I lay down, hoping for a miracle. It was awkward and uncomfortable. The cardboard was scratchy, and it didn’t really block out any light or noise.
After a few minutes of lying there, feeling like a complete idiot, I gave up. I pulled the whole thing down and tossed it in the recycling bin. So much for my brilliant plan. In the end, I realized that a good night’s sleep probably doesn’t involve disturbed cardboard from the street. Maybe I should just stick to the warm milk and try to stop overthinking things. I bought a new pillow and some earplugs today. Fingers crossed that this time will be better.
But hey, at least it was an adventure, right? And who knows, maybe someone else out there will have better luck with their cardboard sleep experiments. If you do, let me know. I’m all ears… or should I say, all cardboard?
