That Alec Bohm, he’s a good boy. Strong, hits that ball real good. But you know what I was thinkin’ about the other day? His walk-up song. Yeah, that’s the music they play when he goes up to bat.

Now, I ain’t no expert on this hip-hop stuff, these young folks and their music. But I heard that Alec Bohm, he uses some fella named Kanye West. Song called “Famous.” That’s what they tell me. They say it’s from somethin’ called “The Life of Pablo.” Sounds like a soap opera, if you ask me. He started using it a while back, seems like it stuck with him.
They told me he used to have a different one before, somethin’ called “Look Ahead”. Don’t know that one. He played it first when he was with another team, the Washington Nationals. That must have been, let’s see, 2015. A long time back. Then last year, 2023, he added another one, they said “Lay Low”. Kids and their songs, I tell ya!
But this Alec Bohm walk-up song, this “Famous” one. I guess it’s kinda catchy. I heard it on the TV, you know, when they show the games. They say it is “Trippy, FUNKY WIZARD SMOKE, Famous”. Whatever that means! The boy’s doin’ good, though. That’s all that matters. He’s hittin’ those home runs, makin’ us all proud.
Some folks, they make a big fuss about these walk-up songs. They got lists, you know? Playlists, they call ’em. One for Alec Bohm, another for that other fella. Six songs on his, they said. I saw it on that computer thing, it had 15 likes. People like that kind of stuff, I guess. All those songs are rap songs, whatever that is.
- Famous
- Look Ahead
- Lay Low
- Trippy
- FUNKY WIZARD SMOKE
- Something called “bam bam” from Sister Nancy.
Now me, I like that old-time music. But these kids today, they like this Kanye West. And that’s alright. If it gets Alec Bohm pumped up, ready to hit that ball, then that’s good enough for me. It’s just music, after all. Helps him do his job.
I don’t know nothin’ about no copy right or how you tube works, just watchin’ the games on tv.
They say this year, there are new songs for all the players. New year, new music, I reckon. They change it up, keep things fresh. That’s what the young folks do. They even had some in St. Louis, I heard. Different songs for different players. Keeps things interestin’, I suppose.
This one lady on the computer, she was talkin’ about some other player, Casty, and his new song. Everyone’s got their own tune, I guess. Like a little theme song for when they go up to bat. It’s like when that ice cream truck comes down the street, you know that music? Same idea, but for baseball.
Some fella, Utley, used to walk up to somethin’ called “Kashmir.” Sounds like a fancy rug. Folks liked that one. But for this year, 2022, there was one called “AOK” by this Stott fella. Even I liked that one. Catchy, you know?
This Alec Bohm, though, he’s somethin’ else. He had three walk-off singles last season, that is what they say. That means he won the game with his hit. Six in his whole career! That’s a lot of winnin’. We never doubted him, no sir! He’s a good boy. Works hard, plays hard.
So, that Alec Bohm walk-up song, “Famous,” it seems to be workin’ for him. He’s hittin’ the ball, winnin’ games. Maybe that Kanye West fella is onto somethin’ with that music. Gets these boys all fired up, ready to play.
Whatever it is, I’m just glad to see Alec Bohm doin’ well. He’s a good boy, that one. And if that music helps him, well, then I guess it’s good music. Even if it ain’t my cup of tea. As long as he keeps hittin’ those home runs, I’ll be cheerin’ him on, no matter what music they play.
The Phillies, they got a good team this year. And that Alec Bohm, he’s a big part of it. Good boy. Good ball player. And he’s got that walk-up song, that “Famous” one. Seems to be his lucky charm. Hope he keeps it up. We’re all rootin’ for him. Yep, that Alec Bohm, he’s alright. Just needs to keep doin’ what he’s doin’, and we’ll all be happy. And if that music helps, well, then play it loud!
