Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about this fella, Carson Wentz, and that there Super Bowl thing. Don’t know much about fancy football, but I know what I see, ya hear?
So, this Carson fella, he was playin’ real good for them Eagles back in 2017. Like, real good. They was winnin’ all sorts of games, and folks were sayin’ he was the real deal. But then, wouldn’t ya know it, bad luck struck. The boy got himself hurt, all messed up his knee, I think. Right there at the end of the season, too. Tough break, that was.
- He was playing good, then bam! Hurt.
- The Eagles, they kept on winnin’ even without him.
- That other fella, Foles, he stepped in. Did alright, I guess.
Now, them Eagles, they went on to the Super Bowl, that big game everybody talks about. And Carson, he couldn’t play. Had to watch from the sidelines, poor fella. I heard he was real upset about it, and I don’t blame him none. Must’ve been like watchin’ your prize-winning pie gettin’ eaten by somebody else.
People say he helped get them Eagles to the Super Bowl, even though he didn’t get to play in it. They say he was the reason they was so good that year. He won a bunch of games, got them a good spot, you know? Like gettin’ the best seat in the church, only it’s for football. He led them fellas, that’s what they told me. Even got that fancy record thing, highest whatchamacallit… completion somethin’ or other, in 2018. But then, Foles took over after Carson went down and he helped them win it all. They beat them Patriots in that Super Bowl, 41-33, I think it was.
Folks was arguin’ about it for a long time. Was it Carson’s team? Was it Foles’s? I tell ya, it don’t matter none. They won the darn thing, that’s what matters. But I reckon Carson felt a little left out, you know? Like bakin’ a cake but not gettin’ to eat a slice. That’s gotta sting a bit.
Now, after that Super Bowl win, things got kinda messy for Carson. He left the Eagles, went to some other teams, didn’t do so great. Folks started sayin’ he wasn’t the same after that injury. I don’t know about all that. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t. Life’s like that sometimes, things change.
Then I heard he went to Kansas City, to play with them Chiefs. Said he wanted to be on a winnin’ team again, in a good place with good folks. Seemed happy about it. Said they had a good culture, good fans. Can’t blame him for wanting a piece of that pie, can ya? Maybe he’ll get another shot at that Super Bowl, who knows? But one thing’s for sure, he was part of that Eagles team that won it all back in 2017, even if he didn’t get to play in the big game. He helped them get there, and that counts for somethin’.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. A good player, a bad injury, and a Super Bowl win he watched from the sidelines. Life’s funny that way, ain’t it? You never know what’s gonna happen.
