Okay, so I came across the news today, saw the headlines about Deion Sanders and that CBS affiliate reporter. Watched the clip a couple of times to get the feel for it.

First thing I did was just sit back and think. You see these kinds of interactions pop up now and then, especially with high-profile figures like Coach Prime. The pressure’s always on, right?
My process wasn’t complicated. I just observed:
- How the question was asked.
- Deion’s immediate reaction, his body language.
- The way he chose to respond, or well, not respond directly to that specific question.
It got me thinking about controlling your own space, your own narrative. Sometimes you just draw a line. I remember years ago, working on a project, not nearly as public, mind you. We kept getting hammered with the same type of questions from a particular department, over and over, even after we’d given the answers. It felt like they weren’t listening, just trying to poke holes.
My Reflection on It
There comes a point where you gotta manage the flow. Maybe you shut down one line of questioning to keep things focused, or maybe you’re just plain tired of it. I don’t know Deion’s exact reasons, wasn’t there. But I saw the exchange, and I processed it through my own lens, my own experiences with feeling pressured or dealing with repetitive, maybe unhelpful, questioning.
What I noted down for myself was the decisiveness. Right or wrong, agree or disagree, the action was clear. He wasn’t wishy-washy about it in that moment. He took control of the interaction right then and there.

So, yeah, that was my little observation routine today. Saw the news, watched the interaction, thought about similar dynamics I’ve seen or been part of, even in totally different fields. It’s always interesting to see how people handle the spotlight and the questions that come with it. Just another day observing human interactions, really.
