Okay, so, let’s talk about this Darius Taylor guy. I started looking into him because, well, the name kept popping up. It all began when I was scrolling through some sports news, and bam, there he was again – Darius Taylor. I thought, “Who is this guy?” So, I started digging.

First, I checked out his high school stats. The dude was a beast at Walled Lake Western High School in Detroit. Seriously, as a senior, he rushed for something like 2,450 yards and 36 touchdowns. Can you believe that? And he wasn’t just about running; he also caught 14 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown. That’s a pretty solid high school career if you ask me. They called him a three-star recruit, which I guess is a big deal in the football world.
Then, I found out he committed to the University of Minnesota. I was like, “Alright, let’s see how he’s doing in college.” Apparently, he enrolled early in January 2023. He played his first college game against Nebraska. He only made one rushing attempt for three yards, but hey, everyone starts somewhere, right?
What really caught my attention was that he was named the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week, not once, not twice, but three weeks in a row! That’s when I knew this guy was something special. I started looking at more recent stuff, and there was talk about him missing a game because of a leg injury. That’s a bummer, but injuries happen. He’s an American college football running back for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, that’s for sure.
Tracking His Progress
- Started following his games: I began watching some of the Gophers’ games just to see him play.
- Checked his stats regularly: I kept an eye on his stats after each game. I even found his profile on some sports website, which had all the details.
- Noticed he was a key player: It became pretty obvious that he was a major part of the team’s offense. One game against Wisconsin, he rushed 32 times for 143 yards and even caught a couple of passes. They called him the “heart and soul” of the team in that game. That’s huge!
- Heard some rumors: There was some buzz about other schools trying to get him, even before he started at Minnesota. I guess when you’re that good, everyone wants you on their team. But now it didn’t.
- Kept an eye on news: I made sure to stay updated on any news about him, especially regarding his injury and recovery.
So, yeah, that’s pretty much my journey with following Darius Taylor. From a name that just kept popping up to realizing he’s a legit college football star, it’s been interesting. I just followed his story because it seemed like a fun thing to do, and he is Academic All-Big Ten (2024), All-Big Ten Honorable Mention (2024). I’m not a huge football fanatic or anything, but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on him to see where his career goes. Who knows, maybe he’ll be a big NFL star someday. It is exciting, right?
