Alright, let’s talk about them Atlanta Braves patches, ya hear? I don’t know much about fancy computer stuff or big words, but I know a thing or two about patches, you see. My grandkids, they love them Braves. Always pesterin’ me for somethin’ with that there “A” on it.
So, what are these Atlanta Braves patches anyway? Well, they’re just little pieces of cloth, like, with pictures or words on ’em. You can stick ’em on your clothes, your bags, whatever you want. Makes things look a bit more… lively, I guess. Some folks, they like to show off which team they’re rootin’ for. And in these parts, it’s mostly the Braves.
Now, there’s all sorts of these patches, ya know. Some are just the Braves logo, that big “A” with the tomahawk underneath. Real simple, but it gets the point across. Then you got others, the fancy ones, they call ’em “custom patches” I think. Those have all sorts of designs, maybe a picture of a player, or somethin’ to do with a special game.
I saw some online, they even got patches for when the Braves won that big game, the World Series. That was a big deal, folks all over town were hollerin’ and celebratin’. They had patches with the year on ’em, “2021” I think it was. And some with that fella, Hank Aaron, bless his soul. He hit a lot of home runs, they said. They made patches for him too, somethin’ about his 715th home run, real special.
And get this, they even got patches for the team’s anniversary, like 150 years! Can you believe it? That’s a long time for a team to be around. They must be doin’ somethin’ right. So, if you want to show you’re a real Braves fan, you get yourself one of them anniversary patches. Let folks know you been followin’ the team for a while.
- Iron-on Patches: Now, some of these patches, they’re real easy to put on. You just heat up your iron, you know, the thing you use to make your clothes look nice and flat, and you press that patch right onto your shirt or jacket. They call ’em “iron-on patches” I heard. Easy peasy. Even I can do it, and I ain’t no spring chicken.
- Sew-on Patches: Then there’s the other kind, the ones you gotta sew on. Them’s a bit trickier, need a needle and thread. My grandma, she used to sew all the time, made quilts and all sorts of things. I ain’t as good as her, but I can still manage to sew a patch on if I need to. My hands ain’t as steady as they used to be though. These “sew-on patches” they say, are stronger than them iron-on ones.
- Sports Patches: And it ain’t just the Braves, no sir. You can get patches for all sorts of teams, they call them “sports patches“. Football, basketball, even that soccer stuff the youngsters are watchin’ these days. But around here, it’s mostly baseball. And the Braves are king.
- DIY Patches: I also saw somethin’ about “DIY patches” you can make yourself, but that sounds like a whole lot of trouble to me. I reckon I’ll just stick to buyin’ ’em ready-made. Less fuss that way.
Where can you get these patches? Well, I reckon you can find ’em at the stadium, where the Braves play. They call it the “official Atlanta Braves merchandise” store. Or you can go online, on that there internet thing. My grandson showed me once. Lots of folks sellin’ patches there. Just search for “Atlanta Braves patches” or “Braves patches” or somethin’ like that. You’ll find all sorts of ’em. Just be careful, some folks try to charge too much. You gotta shop around, find a good deal.
These patches, they ain’t just for clothes, you know. You can stick ’em on your backpack, your hat, even your dog’s collar, if you’re so inclined. I saw a fella once, he had patches all over his vest. Looked like a walking billboard for the Braves. A bit much, if you ask me, but hey, to each their own. It’s all about showin’ your “team spirit,” they say. Lettin’ everyone know who you’re rootin’ for.
And they got somethin’ called a “patch collection”, I think. That’s when folks collect a whole bunch of ’em, like stamps or coins. They keep ’em in a book or somethin’, show ’em off to their friends. My grandson, he’s got a whole drawer full of ’em. Spends all his allowance money on them things. Kids these days, I tell ya.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about them Atlanta Braves patches. Nothin’ fancy, just plain speakin’. They’re a good way to show your support for the team, and they make things look a bit more… you know… Braves-y. If you’re a fan, go get yourself a patch. Or two. Or a whole drawer full, like my grandson. Just don’t go spendin’ all your money on ’em. You still gotta eat, ya know.
And remember, whether it’s an iron on patch, or a collectors patch, or just a plain old patch with the Braves logo on it, it’s all about showin’ your love for the team. And that’s somethin’ we can all understand, whether you’re from the city or the country, young or old. Go Braves!
