Alright, so you wanna know about this Phil Mickelson fella and how many times he won that there Masters thing, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, that boy’s a real good golfer, won it quite a few times. Don’t rightly know all the fancy details, but I’ll tell ya what I know.
They say he won it three times. Yep, three times! That’s a whole lot, ain’t it? Three times! I heard tell there’s only eight other fellas who done that. So, he’s in pretty good company, I reckon.
- First time he won was in 2004. That’s a long time ago now, ain’t it? Time sure does fly.
- Then he went and done it again in 2006. Two times in just a few years. That boy was on fire, I tell ya.
- And then, to top it all off, he won it again in 2010. Three times! That’s somethin’ special, alright.
Now, I hear tell there’s this other fella, Jack Nicklaus, he won it six times. Six times! That’s even more than Phil. Guess that fella was a real whiz at golf too. He won it back-to-back once, in ’65 and ’66. Imagine that! Winning two years in a row.
But Phil, he’s no slouch. They say he’s won all sorts of golf tournaments, 45 of ’em they say, big ones too, not just those little ones. Major championships, they call ’em. He’s got two of those PGA things, whatever those are. Won one of them Open things over in England, I think. And, of course, those three Masters. That boy’s been around and done a whole heap of winning.
Now, this year, they got all these young fellas tryin’ to win it. There’s this Scottie Scheffler fella, he’s the favorite, they say. And then there’s this Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, and that Wyndham Clark. Lots of fellas tryin’ to take that trophy home. But Phil, he’s still playin’, still tryin’ to win again. Don’t rightly know if he will, but he’s givin’ it his all, I reckon.
They say if Phil gets in the top five, that’ll be somethin’ special. He ain’t done that too many times lately, ‘cept for those old-timer tournaments, the Champions Tour they call it. But Phil, he’s a fighter, always has been. He’s one of those special fellas, only three of ‘em, with that Jack Nicklaus fella and that Tiger Woods fella, that finished in the top five at least a dozen times at that Augusta place where they play the Masters. Don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds important.
So, there ya have it. Phil Mickelson, won the Masters three times. 2004, 2006, and 2010. That’s what I know, anyway. Don’t go quotin’ me on all the details, ’cause I ain’t no golf expert. But I know a winner when I see one, and that Phil, he’s a winner alright.
