Okay, so today I decided to dive deep into analyzing how Cowboys QB Trey Lance is progressing. I’ve been following his journey, and it’s clear he’s still working to get back to top form. Here’s how I went about it:

Digging into Recent Practice Footage
First, I pulled up all the recent practice videos I could find. You know, those short clips the team and some fans post. I wanted to see his throwing motion with my own eyes.
- I focused on his footwork. Was he balanced? Was he stepping into his throws consistently?
- I looked closely at his release. Was it smooth? Was the ball coming out with a tight spiral?
- I then checked out his accuracy,It is important.
Comparing to Older Footage
Next, I dug up some older footage, stuff from his college days and earlier in his pro career. This was key. I needed a baseline to compare his current form against. It’s all about seeing the changes, good or bad.
Reading Reports and Expert Opinions
I’m no pro scout, so I also checked out what the experts were saying. I read through articles, reports from beat writers, and any analysis I could find. It’s helpful to see if my observations matched up with those who do this for a living.
Focus on ball speed and footwork
Then I back to look at the video again, and focus on his ball speed. I’m not there in person so can not use professional equipment to get the data.

- I wanted to see if he’s getting good zip on the ball.
- I noticed that his footwork looks a little inconsistent still.
My Overall Take
Putting it all together, I’d say Lance is definitely making progress, He’s showing flashes of his potential, but there are still moments where he looks a bit hesitant. It’s like he’s still thinking through things instead of just reacting. That’s the rust, I guess. I think with more reps and game experience, he’ll get there.I am looking forward to seeing his growth.
