Okay, so I got it into my head that I wanted to channel my inner Conor McGregor. Not the fighting part, obviously – I’d get destroyed. I’m talking about the style. That sharp, confident, sometimes outrageous look. So, I decided to dive in and see what it would take to dress like “The Notorious.”

Reconnaissance Phase
First, I spent a good chunk of time just looking at pictures. You know, really studying what he wears. Lots of suits, obviously, but also some pretty bold casual stuff. I quickly realized this wasn’t going to be a “buy one outfit” kind of deal. It’s a whole vibe.
- Suits: Tailored, often three-piece, and frequently in… let’s call them “adventurous” patterns. Think pinstripes, plaids, and even florals.
- Shirts: Crisp dress shirts, sometimes with a contrasting collar or cuffs. He seems to like French cuffs a lot.
- Accessories: Pocket squares, ties (sometimes skinny, sometimes wider), lapel pins, and always a killer watch. The man loves his bling.
- Casual Wear: Even when he’s not suited up, it’s designer. Fitted polos, colorful sweaters, designer jeans, and statement sneakers or loafers.
- Sunglasses:Big, bold, and often mirrored. He’s shielding his eyes from… well, probably the flashbulbs.
The Shopping Spree (and the Ouch!)
I started with a suit. I didn’t go full custom-tailored (my wallet wept just thinking about it), but I did find a decent off-the-rack number in a navy pinstripe. It needed some alterations, of course. I took it to a local tailor and had the pants hemmed and the jacket taken in a bit. Gotta get that fitted look!
Then I picked up a few dress shirts. Plain white, light blue, and one with a subtle pattern. I even splurged on a pair of cufflinks. Feeling fancy!
Accessories were next. I found a pocket square with a bit of personality (nothing too crazy, though) and a nice tie. And, of course, I needed a watch. Didn’t go for a Rolex, but I found something substantial and stylish that didn’t completely break the bank.
For casual wear, I grabbed a fitted polo shirt and a pair of dark-wash jeans. I already had some decent shoes that would work.

Putting It All Together
The first time I put on the full suit, shirt, tie, and pocket square… I felt different. More confident? Definitely. A little bit like I was playing dress-up? Maybe. But it was fun. I even practiced my best McGregor swagger in the mirror. (Don’t judge.)
The casual look was easier to pull off. The fitted polo and jeans felt good, and the watch added a touch of that McGregor flair.
I wear sunglasses all the time.
The Verdict
Dressing like Conor McGregor is definitely an experience. It’s not cheap, and it takes some effort to find the right pieces and get them tailored properly. But it’s also kind of empowering. It makes you stand a little taller, walk a little prouder. Would I do it every day? Probably not. But for a special occasion, or just to feel a bit more… notorious? Absolutely.

I learned that dressing well and trying the style of the person you admire can make you feel very different. I also think that the style of dressing is more important than the clothes.
