Alright, decided to finally spend some time today figuring out this wuwa tidal heritage thing. Heard some folks talking about it, figured I’d see what the fuss was about. Didn’t really have a plan, just jumped in.

So, first off, I had to actually find where to even start. The name ‘tidal heritage’ kinda screams water, right? So I headed towards the coastlines, the areas that look all wet and marshy on the map. Spent a good chunk of time just running around, poking at ruins, climbing cliffs near the sea. Honestly felt a bit lost for a while there.
Eventually, near some old broken down structures half-sunk in the muck, I spotted this faint glowing thing. Wasn’t obvious, almost missed it. Interacted with it, and it gave me some vague clue, like a riddle or something. Pointed me towards another area.
Following the Trail
This basically set the pattern. It became a breadcrumb trail kind of deal.
- Go to location A, find a thing (sometimes needed to fight off some local critters, nothing too crazy).
- Thing A gives clue for location B.
- Go to location B, find another thing, maybe solve a super simple puzzle like activating statues in order.
- Thing B gives clue for location C.
And so on. It wasn’t rocket science, mostly just legwork. Traipsing across the map, sometimes doubling back when I misread a clue or got distracted chasing some resource node. You know how it is.
One part was a bit tricky, involved finding these markers hidden underwater. Had to swim around quite a bit, holding my breath, hoping I wouldn’t drown before finding the darn thing. Made me wish I had gills. The controls felt a bit clunky for that part, kept bumping into rocks.

The Payoff, Sort Of
After maybe two hours, tracking down maybe five or six of these heritage spots, I got to the last one. It was in this hidden cave behind a waterfall, pretty standard stuff. Found the final piece, this sort of ancient tablet looking thing.
Activating it triggered a short cutscene, like a ghost image showing something from the past. Gave a bit of backstory about the area, some lore about tides and old settlements. It was… okay. Got some minor rewards too, some currency, materials, the usual stuff.
Overall? It was alright. Kept me busy for an afternoon. Wasn’t the most exciting thing I’ve done in the game, felt a bit like a checklist chore towards the end. But hey, I explored some corners I hadn’t seen before, and I guess I learned a little bit more about the world’s history. Cleared it off my mental to-do list, which feels kinda satisfying in its own way. Sometimes just finishing something is the point, you know? Like cleaning out the garage. It’s work, but then it’s done.
