Okay, so I wanted to get in on the whole College GameDay experience for the Iowa game. I’d never done it before, and it felt like something I needed to check off my list.
Planning it out (or not)
Honestly, I didn’t do a ton of planning. My buddy and I just decided, “Yeah, let’s do it!” The night before, we made sure we, you know, I set the alarm clock, make sure the time is right.
The Early Wake-Up Call
Man, that alarm came early. I’m not a morning person, so dragging myself out of bed was rough. But hey, gotta do it for GameDay, right? We grabbed some coffee – seriously needed that caffeine – and headed out.
Getting There and the Crowd
We got to campus, and it was already buzzing. I mean, people were EVERYWHERE. Finding a spot was kinda tricky. We ended up just squeezing in where we could. I saw all kinds of crazy signs – some were hilarious, some were… well, let’s just say creative.
The Show Itself
- The Energy:The atmosphere was just electric. Everyone was hyped up, cheering, chanting… it was infectious.
- The Hosts:Seeing the GameDay crew in person was pretty cool. They were cracking jokes, analyzing the game – it was like watching TV, but live and with a thousand other people yelling around you.
- The wait:To be honest it was long time waiting, but when everyone is cheering and being so passionated, it was worth it.
The Game (and After)
Of course, the whole point was the game! I won’t get into all the details, but let’s just say it was a good one, It had its ups and downs. Afterward, we hit up one of the campus bars. Everyone was still buzzing from the game and the whole day.
My Takeaway
Would I do it again? Yep, definitely. It’s exhausting, and you’re basically standing around for hours, but the atmosphere and the shared excitement with other fans? Totally worth it. Maybe next time I’ll bring a better sign, though!
