Alright, so I’ve been meaning to get into tennis lately, and I heard about this player, Coco Vandeweghe. She seems pretty good, so I decided to dig into her career and see what she’s all about.
First, I opened my browser and headed straight to *. I typed “Coco Vandeweghe” into the search bar and hit enter. Boom, her profile popped up, showing all sorts of stuff – live scores, final and partial results, draws, match history, and even her record per season and surface.
Basic info I found:
- Turned Pro: 2008
- Height: 185 cm (That’s tall!)
- Weight: 70 kg
I also found out that you can add her as a favorite player on the site, up to 10 favorites, in fact. I guess that’s for keeping track of the players you like the most. Anyway, I clicked around and learned that her career-high ranking was No. 9 in the world back in January 2018! She even reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon twice, in 2015 and 2017. Pretty impressive.
But here’s the kicker – she retired from tennis last fall! I was a bit bummed, but then I read that she’s now a broadcaster at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Good for her! It seems like she’s still involved in the sport, just in a different way.
Before retiring, she managed to snag two singles and four doubles titles on the WTA Tour, plus one singles and one doubles WTA Challenger title. Not too shabby. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through her match history, seeing all the ups and downs of her career. It’s fascinating how much work these athletes put in. I think that I will be able to get a lot of information about her match. I will share it with you guys next time.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of Coco Vandeweghe. I started by just wanting to know more about her, and I ended up learning a bunch about her career and where she is now. I think I will search for her matches video later.
