Okay, so I’ve been messing around with putters lately, trying to find something that just feels right, you know? I heard some buzz about the TaylorMade White Spider putter, and figured I’d give it a shot. My putting’s been kinda shaky, so I was ready to try anything.

First thing I did was head to the local golf shop. I wanted to actually hold the thing, get a feel for the weight, the balance, all that good stuff. Just seeing pictures online doesn’t really cut it.
Trying it Out
They had a few different models, but the one that caught my eye was the classic White Spider – that big, white mallet head. It looked… kinda futuristic, honestly. But I’m game for it. I grabbed it, and the first thing I noticed was the weight. It felt substantial, but not too heavy. Just a good, solid feel in my hands.
- Took some practice swings. Felt pretty good, nice and smooth.
- Lined up a few putts on their little practice green.
- Rolled a few. The ball came off the face really nicely, not too jumpy.
The alignment aids – those black lines on the white head – were actually pretty helpful. I usually struggle with getting my putter face square, but these lines made it seem a little easier, at least in the store.
Digging Deeper
After I bought, I spend time on my home putting green. It is my testing playground. I practised different shots, short and long putts. The feel is so good, it’s like the ball just wants to go straight.
It’s not a magic wand, of course. I still gotta put in the work, read the greens, get the speed right. But the White Spider definitely seems to be helping me with my consistency. I’m not yanking putts left and right nearly as much.

So, that’s my initial take on the White Spider putter. I bought it, tried it, and like it. I’m gonna keep practicing with it, see how it performs on the actual course. I’ll probably share an update after a few rounds. Wish me luck, hopefully no more three-putts!
