Okay, so I’ve been trying to keep track of my scores at the Good Good Midwest Open, and let me tell you, it’s been a rollercoaster. I started off pretty shaky, not gonna lie.

First thing I did was bookmark the main page where the scores get posted. I knew I’d be checking it obsessively, so I wanted it handy. Then, I grabbed a notebook – yeah, I’m old school like that – and a pen. I wanted to jot down my own notes alongside the official scores.
Round One: Not My Best Work
- Hole 1: Bogey. Started with a slice into the rough. Ugh.
- Hole 4: Double bogey. Water hazard. Enough said.
- Hole 9: Finally, a birdie! Felt good to get one under par.
- Hole 18: Par. Finished okay, but definitely room for improvement.
After the first round, I went straight to look my result. The results page. The score was about what I expected, maybe a little worse. I highlighted my total score in my notebook and added a little note: “Need to work on my drives.”
Round Two: Redemption?
- Hole 1: Par! Started strong this time.
- Hole 4: Avoided the water! Still a bogey, but hey, progress.
- Hole 7: Another birdie! Feeling a little more confident.
- Hole 18: Par. A much better finish than round one.
After the second round, I repeated the process. Checked the official scores, updated my notebook. This time, I used a different colored pen to make it stand out. I added a note: “Way better! Keep focusing on accuracy.”
I checked the scores every day, every hour if I am honest with myself. Everytime, I will update it to my notebook.
The Final Verdict
Overall, it wasn’t my best tournament, but it wasn’t my worst either. The important thing is I kept track of my progress, learned from my mistakes, and had some fun along the way. And my trusty notebook? It’s now my go-to for tracking my golf scores, good or bad.
