Alright, so you wanna know about that Canelo fight, huh? Let me tell ya, that fella, Canelo, he’s somethin’ else. Folks were yappin’ about him losin’ his touch, sayin’ he ain’t what he used to be. But lemme tell ya, them folks, they don’t know nothin’.
This fight, it was against this other fella, Charlo. Yeah, Jermell Charlo, that’s the one. Now, some were sayin’ Charlo had a chance, you know, bein’ younger and all. But Canelo, that sly dog, he showed ’em. He showed ’em real good.
From the get-go, it was clear who was boss. Canelo, he was all over Charlo, thumpin’ him good. Charlo, he tried, I guess, but it weren’t enough. Canelo’s punches, they were landin’ hard, thumpin’ like a drum. Charlo, he was just tryin’ to stay up, poor fella.
They went the whole way, twelve rounds. Can you believe that? Twelve rounds of Canelo poundin’ on that Charlo fella. And the judges, well, they saw what everyone else saw. All three of ’em, they gave it to Canelo. Unanimous decision, they called it. Big words for just sayin’ Canelo whooped him good.
- 119 to 108
- 118 to 109
- 118 to 109
That’s what the judges said. See? No question who won. Canelo, he just dominated. Folks were sayin’ he was past his prime, but he showed ’em. He showed ’em all.
Now, I heard tell some folks lost money on this fight. Bet on that Charlo fella, they did. Serves ’em right, I say. Shoulda known better than to bet against Canelo. He’s a tough one, that fella. Been fightin’ a long time, fightin’ all sorts of folks. He even fought that Mayweather fella, years ago, and that Bivol guy too. Lost those, he did, but he’s still a champ in my book.
This fight, though, it wasn’t even close. Canelo, he was too strong, too smart. He knew what he was doin’ in there. And that Charlo fella, well, he just looked lost. Like a calf in a cornfield, wanderin’ around, not knowin’ where to go.
I also heard somethin’ about Charlo gettin’ paid a whole lot more for this fight than he usually does. Folks were sayin’ he usually gets, what, five hundred thousand, seven hundred thousand maybe? But this time, oh boy, he got a whole lot more. Guess that’s the price you pay for gettin’ a whuppin’ from Canelo. He got beat up, but his pockets are a bit heavier, so maybe it weren’t all bad for him.
And Canelo, well, he’s still the king. Undisputed super middleweight champion, they call him. Big words again, but it just means he’s the best. He’s got all the belts, you see. And he ain’t givin’ ’em up easy. He’s gonna keep fightin’, keep winnin’, keep showin’ folks that he’s still the man.
Some folks were talkin’ about a knockout, you know, Canelo knockin’ that Charlo fella clean out. But it didn’t happen. Went the distance, it did. But that don’t matter none. A win’s a win, and Canelo, he got the win. That’s all that matters.
So, if you ask me who won that Canelo fight? It was Canelo, plain and simple. He beat that Charlo fella good. Dominated him, you could say. And he’s still the champ. Don’t let nobody tell you different. They were saying he was slipping, that he wasn’t the same fighter anymore. Well, he shut them up good and proper, didn’t he? He’s still got it, that Canelo. He’s still got that fire in his belly, that fight in his heart. And he’s gonna keep on fighting, keep on winning, until he decides he’s had enough. But for now, he’s the king, and nobody can take that away from him.
There was this one round, the seventh round I think it was, where Canelo really laid into Charlo. Folks were on their feet, cheerin’ and hollerin’. It was somethin’ to see, lemme tell ya. Canelo, he was like a machine, just poundin’ away. And Charlo, he was just tryin’ to survive. He hung in there, give him that, but he didn’t have a chance. Canelo was just too good. He showed everyone that night that he’s still one of the best, maybe the best, in the world.
So yeah, Canelo won. And he won big. Don’t let nobody tell you different.
