Alright, let’s gab a bit about this Canelo Alvarez fella and his folks. You know, the boxer guy? Seems like he’s got a whole heap of brothers, or so they say.
Now, I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is. They say Canelo, he come from a big family. Big, like a whole litter of puppies, you know? Born to this Santos Alvarez and Ana Maria Barragan, they were. Middle-class folks, they say, from some place called Michoacan. Then they up and moved to Jalisco, where the daddy started a little somethin’-somethin’ to keep the family fed.
- Heard tell Canelo was the baby of the bunch, the last of eight kids.
- Seven boys, imagine that! A whole lotta roughhousin’ and eatin’ a body outta house and home, I reckon.
And wouldn’t you know it, all them boys, they took to boxin’. Like peas in a pod, all punchin’ and jabbin’. Heard some folks say there were six brothers, some say seven. Truth be told, I can’t keep ’em all straight. Only three of ’em seem to be known by the public, a fella named Ricardo bein’ one of ’em, or so I’ve heard tell.
Canelo, he started young, they say. Fifteen years old and already turnin’ pro. Guess he was itchin’ to get in the ring and make a name for himself. And he did, didn’t he? Folks call him a champion, this four-weight world champion at age thirty-four. That’s somethin’ else, ain’t it?
But it ain’t just boxin’ with this Canelo fella. Seems he likes horses too. Learned to ride ’em growin’ up on the family farm, and still rides ’em to this day, so I hear. Guess even a tough guy like him needs a bit of peace and quiet now and then.
Now, about them brothers again. Seems a bit hush-hush on some of ’em. Like they’re hidin’ in the shadows or somethin’. Can’t find much about all of ’em, no matter how much you poke around. Makes you wonder, don’t it? Maybe they just ain’t the fightin’ type, or maybe they just like keepin’ to themselves. Can’t fault ’em for that, I guess.
And then there’s the matter of Canelo’s own young’uns. He’s got four of ‘em, they say, each with a different mama. A girl named Emily Cinnamon, another one called Mia Ener, and two more I can’t rightly recall the names of. Busy fella, that Canelo. Seems he’s got a lot goin’ on, what with all the boxin’, the horses, and the passel of kids.
Heard tell Canelo got bullied as a kid, somethin’ about his red hair. Imagine that, a tough fella like him gettin’ picked on. But look at him now. Guess that just goes to show you, even the littlest fella can grow up to be somethin’ big. Just gotta have a bit of grit and determination, I reckon.
So that’s the story, or at least what I’ve pieced together. A big family, a bunch of brothers, a whole lotta boxin’, and a few kids thrown in for good measure. Canelo Alvarez, they call him. Seems like he’s done alright for himself, comin’ from a simple family and makin’ a name in the world. Good for him, I say. Good for him.
And as for all them brothers, well, maybe someday we’ll hear more about ‘em. Or maybe they’ll just stay in the background, happy to let Canelo have the spotlight. Either way, it’s their business, ain’t it? I’m just here to tell the tale as I’ve heard it, plain and simple.
