Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into EA Sports FC 24 lately, and I had this burning question: can you actually play as all the national teams in the game? I mean, the World Cup is the pinnacle of football, right? So, I really wanted to see if I could take my favorite national team all the way in this game.
First, I fired up the game and started poking around the different modes. I quickly found that there are 30 men’s national teams and 15 women’s national teams that you can choose from. It’s a decent selection, I gotta say. I was pretty stoked to see some of my favorite teams listed there, like Brazil and Germany (who are like, the legends of the World Cup, right?). Brazil has been in all 22 tournaments, and Germany’s been in 20 – that’s insane! I could also play with Italy, they were in 18, it was awesome.
But here’s the thing, I wanted all the national teams. I mean, FIFA has rules about players switching nationalities and stuff, so I figured there had to be more teams out there. I did a little digging and found out that there are actually like, 80 national teams that have competed in the World Cup as of 2022. That’s way more than what’s in FC 24! There were a few requirements to play for your national team, such as that your grandparents were born there, you are married to someone from there, or you have become a citizen of that country. Apparently in 2021 they updated the rules for changing your nationality, but it wasn’t really relevant for what I wanted to do.
So, I spent hours trying different settings, hoping there was some hidden way to unlock more teams. I even went through all the menus, thinking maybe there was a secret code or something (hey, it happens in some games!). It was pretty much what I could think of. I also looked around for some clues or hints about national teams, or any requirements to unlock them, but there was nothing.
Ultimately, I realized that you’re kinda stuck with the teams they give you. It’s a bit of a bummer, to be honest. I was really hoping to play with some of the smaller nations, you know? Live out some underdog stories or something. It would have been amazing.
Here’s what I played around with while trying to get more teams:
- Game Modes: Checked every single one, from quick play to tournaments, hoping for a hidden option.
- Team Selection: Scrolled through the team lists a million times, just in case I missed something.
- Settings: Messed with every setting I could find, thinking maybe there was a way to unlock more content.
So yeah, that’s my experience trying to play as all the national teams in EA Sports FC 24. It’s not quite the full World Cup experience I was hoping for, but it’s still a fun game. If you’re a fan of Manchester United’s attacking prowess or Liverpool’s relentless pressing you should try playing with them. Just don’t expect to be able to play with every single national team out there. Maybe they’ll add more in future updates, who knows?
