Alright, so today I’m gonna walk you through how I pieced together the 2015 Ohio State Buckeyes roster. It was a bit of a dive, but I got there in the end.

First off, I started with the most obvious thing: Google. I punched in “Ohio State Buckeyes 2015 roster” and just went from there. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, just a list of names and numbers.
The initial search turned up a bunch of sports sites, like ESPN and some college football news outlets. These were okay, but often a bit cluttered with ads and other stuff I didn’t need. I clicked around a bit, trying to find a clean, simple roster.
Next, I tried the official Ohio State athletics website. You’d think that would be the first place to go, right? But sometimes those official sites are surprisingly hard to navigate. I dug around in the football section, looking for an “all-time roster” or something similar. Eventually, I found a section with historical team info. It wasn’t exactly straightforward, but I was getting closer.
One thing I noticed was that different sites would have slightly different information. Some would have heights and weights, others would list positions more specifically. Some even had hometowns. So, I started keeping a running list, copying and pasting names and numbers into a simple text file. It was messy, but it was a start.
I then thought about using some sports databases. There are sites dedicated to archiving sports stats and rosters. I remembered one my buddy told me about. I searched around and found the 2015 roster and started filling in gaps in my list from earlier.
At this point, I had a pretty solid roster, but there were still a few gaps. A couple of guys with missing numbers, a couple of weird discrepancies in their positions. So, I got a little more granular.
I started searching for individual players. If I had a name but no number, I’d Google “[Player Name] Ohio State 2015”. Usually, that would turn up a player profile on some recruiting site, or maybe a news article mentioning their number. It was tedious, but it worked.
Finally, after a couple of hours of digging, cross-referencing, and generally feeling like a sports detective, I had a complete roster. I cleaned up the text file, organized it by number, and double-checked everything against multiple sources.
The 2015 Ohio State Buckeyes roster was complete!
It’s not the most glamorous thing in the world, but sometimes you just need to know who was on that team. And now I do.
