Okay, so I got this idea to track Bryson DeChambeau’s YouTube subscriber count. I’m a big fan, and I was curious to see how his channel grows over time. Seemed like a fun little project, so I decided to give it a shot.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed a way to get the subscriber count. I’m not a coder or anything, so I started poking around to see if there was an easy way to do this. I thought maybe YouTube had some kind of tool, but after I googled and browsed a bit. I needed a basic way to get started.
Setting Things Up
I figured out the basics,I realized I could grab the subscriber count if I played my cards right. Okay, cool, step one complete!
Putting It All Together
Now I needed a place to store the data. Google Sheets sounded perfect for this – it’s free, easy to use, and I can access it from anywhere.
I created a new spreadsheet with columns for “Date” and “Subscribers”.Pretty basic, right?
So, I set up the to put the data in, I got the subscriber number and dumped it into the spreadsheet. I did this manually at first, just to see if it would work. And it did! I saw the number sitting right there in my spreadsheet.
Making it Automatic
I wanted this to be automatic. I didn’t want to manually update the spreadsheet every day. So, I did some more searching and learned a bit about automation, scheduled tasks. The idea is that I can set it up to run the task automatically, grab the data, and update the spreadsheet without me having to lift a finger.!
Results
It is working! I checked the spreadsheet, and boom – new data, updated automatically. I even made a simple chart in Google Sheets to visualize the growth.
It’s pretty cool to see the subscriber count going up over time. It’s not some groundbreaking project, but it was fun to set up, and I learned a few things along the way. Maybe I’ll add some more features later, like tracking other stats or sending myself notifications when Bryson hits certain milestones. Who knows!
