Okay, let’s talk about Bryce Elder vs. the Mets. I got into this whole thing because I’m a big Braves fan, and I’ve been following Elder’s progress for a while now. So, when I saw he was gonna be pitching against the Mets, I got super excited and decided to keep track of how it all went down.
First thing I did was look up the Mets’ lineup for the game. You know, see who Elder would be facing. I saw some big names like Lindor and Alonso, and I knew it wasn’t gonna be a walk in the park. But I also saw some guys further down the order that I thought Elder could handle.
Starting the Game
Then, game time came around. I grabbed some snacks, a drink, and got comfortable on the couch. I had my laptop open too, just to keep an eye on the stats and the pitch tracker.
- First inning – Elder started strong, getting through the top of the Mets’ order without giving up any runs. He was throwing strikes and mixing his pitches well. I was feeling pretty good at that point.
- Second and third innings – More of the same. Elder was cruising. He got a couple of strikeouts and forced some weak contact. My excitement was really building. Could he really shut down this Mets lineup?
- Fourth inning – Here’s where things got a bit shaky. The Mets started to get some hits, and they even managed to score a run. My heart sank a little, but I knew Elder could bounce back.
- Fifth inning – He did just that! Elder got out of the inning without any further damage. It wasn’t pretty, but he kept the Braves in the game.
Later Innings
Now, the later innings were a bit of a blur. I was so focused on each pitch that it’s hard to recall every single detail. But here’s the gist:
- Elder kept battling. He gave up a couple more runs, but he also kept the Mets from really breaking the game open. He was really showing his toughness.
- The Braves offense was having trouble getting anything going. It was frustrating to watch, but I kept hoping they would finally break through.
Finally, the game ended. The Braves lost, which was a bummer. But you know what? I was still really impressed with Elder’s performance. He went toe-to-toe with a tough lineup and kept his team in the game. That’s all you can ask for from a young pitcher.
After the game, I went online and read some of the post-game analysis. Some folks were critical of Elder’s outing, but I thought he did pretty darn good. It’s all part of the learning process for a young pitcher. I’m still excited to see what he does in the future.
