Well, I’ll be! WWE is comin’ to Bloomington, they say. First time in six years, can ya believe it? Folks been talkin’ ’bout it down at the market, sayin’ it’s gonna be a big to-do.
WWE Supershow at Grossinger Motors Arena, that’s what they’re callin’ it. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Gonna be on June 22nd, they say. A Saturday night, good for the young’uns and all. Heard tell it starts at 7:30 p.m. Gotta get there early if ya want a good seat, I reckon.
Now, I ain’t never been to one of these wrestlin’ matches myself. Too much hollerin’ and thumpin’ for my old ears. But my grandson, that little scamp, he’s all excited. Been beggin’ me to take him. Says he wants to see them fellas jumpin’ and slammin’ each other. Boys and their roughhousin’, I tell ya.
- So, what’s this WWE thing all about then?
- Well, from what I gather, it’s a bunch of strong fellas and gals, wearin’ fancy tights and boots.
- They pretend to fight, kinda like a play, but with more muscles and less talkin’.
- They got their good guys and their bad guys, just like in them old cowboy movies.
My neighbor, Mrs. Higgins, she went to one of these things years ago. Said it was louder than a hog callin’ contest. All them lights flashin’, music thumpin’, and folks screamin’ their heads off. She said she couldn’t hear herself think for a week afterward. But she also said it was kinda fun, in a crazy sort of way. Made her feel young again, she did.
Anyways, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do on June 22nd, and you don’t mind a bit of noise, you might wanna check out this WWE Supershow in Bloomington. They say it’s a real spectacle. Tickets are on sale now, apparently. You can get ’em at Ticketmaster, whatever that is. Or maybe down at the arena, I dunno. Heard tell some folks are sellin’ ’em on somethin’ called “viagogo” too. Sounds fishy to me, but what do I know?
And if you’re drivin’ down there, don’t forget to leave early. Parkin’s gonna be a mess, I bet. Just like when the circus comes to town. Everybody and their brother tryin’ to cram their cars into the same little lot. It’s enough to make a saint swear, I tell ya.
So, there you have it. WWE comin’ to Bloomington. Gonna be a whole lotta wrestlin’ and a whole lotta noise. Whether you’re a fan or not, it’s sure to be somethin’ to talk about. And if you see my grandson there, tell him to behave himself. That boy’s got a knack for gettin’ into trouble, bless his heart.
Now, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about wrestlin’ has made me hungry. Think I’ll have some fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Good ol’ comfort food. That’s what I need after all this excitement.

And one last thing, they say it’s a “celebration of passion, innovation.” Fancy words for a bunch of folks thumpin’ each other, if you ask me. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
