Man, I gotta tell you about this crazy idea I had a while back – hosting a fight night in Dubai. I’d seen some buzz about how Dubai was becoming this big deal for boxing and MMA, and I thought, “Why not get in on that action?”
So, I started digging around. I read that the International Boxing Association picked Dubai for their big meeting, and that got me even more hyped. I saw some local fighter, Kotochigov, was making waves, and I figured that was a good sign. I thought, “Okay, there’s something happening here.”
I also heard that the UAE was trying to become a global hub for MMA. That was a big deal, so I dove deeper into it. I’m not even into all the fighting stuff, but it sounded like a cool opportunity. I even found out about this Global Titans Fight Series kicking off in Dubai. They were talking about some big names, and it seemed like the real deal.
My Plan Started to Take Shape
I started making a list of all the things I’d need to do. First, find a venue. I remembered reading about this place called The Rotunda at Caesars Bluewaters Dubai. Sounded fancy enough, so I added it to my list. Then, fighters. I needed to find some good ones, maybe some up-and-comers like that Kotochigov guy. I thought about reaching out to local gyms, maybe even getting in touch with the Global Titans folks.
Reality Check
- Find a venue (The Rotunda?)
- Contact local gyms and Global Titans
- Figure out the logistics (date, time, tickets, etc.)
- Promote the event (social media, maybe some local ads)
Honestly, the more I looked into it, the more I realized how much work it was. I mean, I’m just a regular dude, not some big-shot promoter. I started to doubt myself. Could I really pull this off? I had to get permits, insurance, and a million other things. Plus, I didn’t have a ton of money to throw around.
In the end, I decided to put the whole Dubai fight night idea on the back burner. It was a cool dream, but maybe a bit too ambitious for me at the time. Still, it was fun to think about and learn about the fight scene in Dubai. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll give it another shot. But for now, I’ll just stick to watching the fights on TV.
